2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
This is poor interpretation of a farmhouse ale. Sweet, with no funk. Hops are non-apparent. I’m tasting strawberry and flowery aspects. I don’t hate it, but I certainly don’t like and never need to have it again.

I called Blue Moon’s Rounder a "pussification" of its respective style. I won’t say that about Short Straw. Instead, I’ll say that this is the bastardization of two great styles. The red ale and farmhouse ale are combined to make this monstrosity. As if that wasn’t enough, Blue Moon throws in a menagerie of weird spices. The final result is a beer with too many styles, too many malts, too many spices, and not enough hops. What we’re left with is a beer with cloying sweetness, nauseating spiciness, and absolutely no farmhouse taste.

Bottle. Poured clear orange copper color with an average off-white frothy head that was mostly diminished with fair lacing. Toasted malt and spice aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium sweet spice flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. Soft sweet beer.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle. Pours a clear amber orange with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a strong earthy straw note with underlying notes of bread and a hint of cookie. Flavor is similar with an earthy straw note through out that has a bit of grain and bread but overall bland.

@Jungle Jims / Eastgate Clear ruby orange with a nice foamy head that drops to a head cover, dots and streaks of lace. Taste is hard to pin down - there is malt but there is also sour strawberry (at odds with the malt), and there is also sour mead (also at odds with the rest). Interesting and unique, which gives it extra credit, but the total package is a mess, which sends it down, down, down...
