Roasted smell of malts and spices, maybe a little citrus. Spice flavor with some mild citrus. Not bad williamherbert (475), Syracuse, New York, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Aug 27, 2009 Rich and glassy appearance; ruby cherry red. Nice pillowy head. Dark in the thick spots. A very nice appearance.
Not much aroma, but a hint of sour cherry. Some dark, sweet grape. Some dry wheat and bready yeast. Smells fine, but a tad weak.
Some wheaty malt flavors; interesting. Heavy, bready yeast ... ringwoodish. Acts as a balance to the sweet cherry, sour grape. Almost a cherry wheat. Pleasant. Gets sour (lambic style) with warmth.
A little dry and a little chewy. Decent and bready. A decent, sour girl beer. Not cloyingly sweet, not wimpy. A dry, sour winter ale. DJMonarch (6941), Northwich, Cheshire, England

Aroma of some nutmeg and spice. Taste includes some light brown sugar and caramel. Spice notes such as clove drift in and out. A mediocre winter ale at best, and probably not a Dubbel. Slight cinnamon and nutmeg to go with a malty aroma. Prominent taste was a roasted malt, some nuttiness and some candi sugar. bobbypaulson (100), , Minnesota, USA
| 1.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 6/20 | Jun 10, 2009 This is just mediocre winter ale. I want it to warm me up with spices. This beer is just dull and falls flat. The taste is a little too sweet for me. The finish is decently balanced but overall not what I wanted in winter ale.
