Suttree (2433), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA Dec 1, 2007 Updated: Dec 4, 2007 Copper, clear, and very bubbly. Thin, loose head. It smells basically OK, Brown sugar and some spices. And the fist sip isn’t bad, I guess. But it seems a bit cloying, and rather heavy, and that gets worse as you one continues to drink it. Went from kinda liking it to indifference to pouring it out.
mstockton (181), Rochester, Michigan, USA Jan 3, 2009 I was rather disappointed with this. I really didn’t think that it had much taste. I’m a sucker for trying these different "Moon" beers and I’m still convinced that Blue Moon is the only one that I like. Anyhow, the beer was thin and a little Molasses-like, but not much else going. Move on and buy a micro... fidelis83 (227), Clinton, Iowa, USA Dec 31, 2008 Had this one when the site was down, entering in my backlog now. I am suprised to see this is listed as a Dubbel. I thought it was more like a regular Belgian Ale type beer. A very weak Dubbel it is I guess. Pours light ruby with a medium chunky beige head. Aroma is toast, roast, molasses, grainy malt and some herbal hops. Flavor is spicy cinamon toast, molasses, straw, caramel, sweet bread spice, and an herbal hops finish. Body is thin and sticky. DubC5000 (162), San Diego, California, USA Dec 29, 2008 A nice dark amber color, but hardly any aroma. Deeply malty flavor, but otherwise nothing special. A little thin to be a winter warmer but seemed quite strong alcoholically. A decent beer but otherwise quite forgettable. TKA300 (34), , Illinois, USA Dec 29, 2008 From a bottle, tasted exactly like the original Blue Moon with a couple tablespoons of sugar added. Decent taste initially and a smoother finish than Blue Moon (mostly of sugar). Finished smoothly and overall, a solid beer. jhh4321 (1), , USA does not count Dec 29, 2008 From Blue Moon sampler pack. Pours a nice reddish brown. Pretty sweet, noticeable coffee and chocolate notes but pretty bland overall. I dont know if Id call it full-bodied. Also left me with some sourness. Not a very substantial brew.
