2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Maelstrom09 (3) - - APR 9, 2009A winter screwcap. I was just becoming a beer enthusiast when BM released this. Malted maple aroma... Deep caramel, medium body; little fizzy; thinner head than avg. I taste maple. I wouldn’t quite say all filler and no killer. . . Great brew for working a puzzle when it’s snowflakes outside. Try 1/2 blue moon, 1/2 full moon for a special dose. Having it on tap at Coors is a blessing!

Transparent brown. Aroma of cinnamon, nutmeg. Sweet, mildly spiced flavors.

I haven’t had many of the Blue Moon sub-brands, but this one must be one of the worst. I suppose that makes sense because its retired. To call this Belgian is an insult to its better cousins. Aside from the appearance, there isn’t much that can be compared.

Tap at bw3. Pours red brown and smallish medium thick head. Mild malt nose and smooth body; Carmel undertones and just a bit of bitterness. Overall seems like a generic medium beer but drinkable.

Originally reviewed: 11/10/08. About time to start trying some of these winter seasonals. This brew pours a deep ruby color with a monstrous tan foamy head that lingers for awhile. Excellent retention and lacing. I’m impressed.
Smell some of the sweet sugar and malt. Some bread tones and a little floral wafting through.
I like the taste of this this. It’s a little weak on the typical abbey ale flavors as others stated, but still good nonetheless. Nice mild hop bitterness in this that keeps me sipping.
Mouthfeel is also a tad weak. A little too watery. Good carbonation though. Overall, I’ve enjoyed the seasonals from Blue Moon, and this is no exception. I would drink this again.

Tap at Megs--Solid amber color, almost copper. No head detected when the drink was brought to the table. Good caramel malt aroma with toffee and caramel taste. Soft finish. Good, easy drinking beer, my favorite Blue Moon.

Pours a dark brown color with a tan head that leaves minimal lacing. Aroma is sweet and toffee. Tastes the same. Overall not a bad brew for sipping.

Pours a dark brown color with a white head. Tastes sweet with a malty flavor. Pretty good for a beer that is brewed by Coors.

I know Coors brewed it but I liked this quite a bit. On tap at champs in Las Colinas. Dark brown hazy pour. Aroma of sugar and toffee. Taste was definitely on the sweeter side but it worked. Similar to aroma. It worked!

Tap at buffalo wild wings. Dark amber-brown with frothy off-white head. Aroma of caramel, very slight yeast, and bread. A little sweet and slightly yeasty. Better than expected
