3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20 jackl (727) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - DEC 18, 2011
Pours a hazy orange with a pillowy white head. The nose is slightly acidic, orange peel, some clove. The taste is moderately sweet, a bit yeasty. Unstructured finish. The body’s medium, somewhat acidic. Overall, nothing particularly special, not bad either.

This beer is a stronger version of regular Blue Moon with the same great general flavor. You can definitely taste the higher alcohol content yet it is not overpowering.

Found two bottles of this in a little beer store. 2009 edition. I was a little concerned with how old they were but they had been kept chilled and in the dark so I had hope. Lots of sediment at the bottom of the bottle with this one. Nose is of orange peel, coriander, wheat, and yeast. Very hazy appearance. This was a delicious beer. So much flavor going on here. It is like an amplified version of a regular blue moon. Lots of flavor notes on the palate and the finish is long and lingering. Complex to say the least. Great brew, if you ever get the chance to try it, absolutely do so.

Bottle--ok, not too bad, but doesn’t measure up to other Belgian type beers. Pours a hazy lemon color with no head. The aroma was of orange and yeast. Tasted similar to their wheat ale with some malt. A little thick and sweet on the finish. When the label said to use an orange slice, I should have known. At least it was on sale. 2.99 Produce Place.
2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 NobleSquirrel (2671) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - NOV 22, 2011
Bottle at GABF. Pours a deeply hazed deep gold with a fluffy white head. Nose is soft phenols, clove and white pepper, crisp green apple notes. Nose isn’t that great. On tasting, more of the white pepper, soft citrus and odd apple. Really flabby and like an even more awful Blue Moon Belg. White. Not a fan.

750 mL bottle from a shaker. Pours a heavuly hazy golden orange color. I got a small white head to appear reluctantly after a glugging pour, but it fizzed away rapidly. Aroma has an orange-juice quality to it, and i get a bit of coriander as well. Taste is honestly not that far removed from the original Blue Moon. Light coriander notes, quite sweet up front, finishing with again that orange-juice quality. No real yeast or wheat character that I can detect, and I ocasionally get some of that macro-brewed carbonation bite in the finish. Overall it is a pretty decent beer, but I there are much better beers out there for the $.
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Blairgus (1189) - California, USA - OCT 6, 2011
6 Oct 2011, bottle, 2010 vintage. orange, hazy. smells like a spiced high abv beer. corriander, butterscotch, CO2. sweet, alcohol, and sharp CO2. not the greatest. med body and fizzy. tastes a lot like a pumpkin ale. alcohol makes the spiced (nutmeg?) flavour much sharper. alcohol is pretty noticeable but spiced flavor is dominant. not the best. couldn’t drink much of it. definitely need to split a bottle. flavor is too sharp and spiced.

Bottle. Pours a hazed gold with a thin white head and quite a few beige to grey floaties. Soft citrus and wheat, light lemon on the nose. A little acidic sourness, tart wheat. Medium bodied, sweet citrus candy, lemon tartness.

Better than expected. Think of blue moon with a bit of uffda. Pours a typical orange with a fizzy white head. Nose is of light cities and spice. A BMC buddy brought this to the new years party, I gave it a shot. Not bad.
