3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours cloudy yellow with a massive white head and a spicy aroma. There is a fruity wheat flavor with lots of coriander. Itís a lot better than the standard Blue Moon, making it worth trying.

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle: Hazy light coppery hue with a frothy head and spotty lace, some small floaties, The aroma has notes of citric rinds, banana, wheat, biscuity malt, coriander, light candi sugar. The taste is sweet malts, twangy citrus, and moderate spice notes upon the finish. A tad boozy and soapy but not distracting. The mouth feel is lively but not not aggressive, medium to light bodied and a bit dry. Overall, I found myself perplexed with this Imperial version for there is too much alcohol and sweetness for something I associate with refreshment.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Cloudy dark yellow with a small fluffy white head. Malt and coriander aroma and taste with notes of orange. It tastes like a more robust and earthy version of the regular blew moon, but it gets extra points for the higher alcohol content.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle. Pours a hazy orange body with a white head and thin lacing. Soapy body lemon grass, orange peel, and light spiciness. Rather bland lame malt bill, sweet wheat y medium body and light warming. Eh.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle: Pours a cloudy orange color with a light white head. The nose is snappy with light orange and yeast, some spicy coriander and rougher yeast notes. A bit beefier than blue moon, but Iím not seeing the effort. Almost a bit more yeasty and malty, but not better. Stronger maybe.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle. Poured the expected light orange bubbly brew. The aroma is big and creamy, like an orangcicle. I havenít had a regular Blue Moon in a long time, but my initial impression is of a amped up version of the big seller. The higher gravity is evident in the beerís warmth and weight, but in the end this doesnít seem all that different. Drinkable enough. (#3849, 2/20/2010)

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle from Kenwood Liquors in Homer Glen, IL: This poured a hazy straw body with rapid bubbling and a tall sustained head. The aroma was oranges with a light spiciness. Way over-carbonated and gassy. Thereís a light bready malt taste at the base, but itís almost hidden by the strong carbonation, the orange flavor, and the alcohol kick near the end. It tastes like a screwdriver made with soda rather than orange juice.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Sampled on 11/20/2009. This Belgian Strong Ale pours a hazy golden orange color from a 750ml bottle. Medium sized white foamy head, with nice retention. The aroma is fruity and sweet, some orange and spices and coriander. A medium bodied Belgian Strong Ale. The malts are fruity and sweet. The main flavors are orange, peaches and coriander. Not as estery as most Belgian Ales, seems to be missing that bright Belgian yeast character, but still a very nice beer. Fruity and light, smooth and fruity. Very easy to drink. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.
