In Belgium, a Grand Cru is traditionally brewed for special celebrations. This holiday season, there’s definitely something to celebrate: a blue moon on New Year’s Eve. To honor this rare event, we’ve brewed a limited-edition Blue Moon Grand Cru in the US. This small-batch, Artfully Crafted brew incorporates subtle hints of orange peel and coriander and delivers a warm, spicy finish. Garnish with an orange slice and celebrate.

Beautiful hazy orange body with a fluffy white head that clings pretty well. Inviting aroma of wheat, citrus, and spice. There is just a slight hint of alcohol, too. Medium mouthfeel, fairly creamy with a nice punch of carbonation. The flavor is much like that of your standard Blue Moon. Sweet orange and wheat with the nice corainder spice. Like with the aroma, there is a slight alcohol warming. I like this brew, but I love Blue Moon. It’s essentially a big Blue Moon that’s very easy to drink considering the high ABV.

Dark orange tan in color... Aroma of orange, potpourri, coriander... Thin flavor, light orange peel throughout... Not terribly better than the original ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Mostly opaque, lots of bubbles. Pineapple yellow with some deeper orange-tan notes. Fluffy white head is gone within seconds.A citrus burst of California oranges and cloudy wheat in the nose. Very champagne-like. In the flavor, heavier on the wheat. The orange is more subtle, with some coriander and a slight anise flavor. Light, watery mouthfeel. Peppery carbonation. Miles ahead of Blue Moon, but I’m not sure if that’s saying much.

Decent nose of wheat and Belgian yeast. Cloudy orang and yellow color with a small head. Medium weight palate. Bottle had some age so the carbonation was probably a little low. I would drink the normal Blue Moon if it had this flavor profile, which was basically amped up with a stronger yeast presence.

Much stronger flavors than regular Blue Moon. Sweeter in taste and strong orange citrus.

Bottle originally shared by Tmoney99 from notes. Pours a hazy orange golden color with a medium sized white head. The aroma and flavor have Belgian yeast, orange citrus, orange peel, mild spice, pale bready malts, very sweet for what it is and I wouldn’t pay the money for one.

UPDATED: JAN 20, 2015 Well, I get what they were going for but waaay too sweet. It clouded everything else. More of an imperial version of the regular blue moon. Serving: Bottle

The body has a pale hazy orange tan color with a small white head. The head fades out quickly leaving nothing behind and making no lacing at all. Inside the body there are a few small deposits of yeast floating around. The aroma is quite fruity. It has a heavy orange like character with notes of orange blossom and mandarin orange peel. Under this are decent sweet bready and wheaty notes. There is defiantly a lot fruity orange and yeast character here. I get this fruity pebbles cereal thing with notes of bready yeast, wheat malt and a warm alcohol presence. It is sweet overall with just a little leafy hop bitterness towards the finish. The palate has a smooth, slick and heavy feel with very soft carbonation.

2009. First aged Grand Cru I have had. Overall, a really solid beer. Better than the average Blue Moon.

Bomber from Capone’s. Pours dark straw with fizzy body. Tastes mildly fruity and hopcitric, with notes of tangerine, but falls apart in the palate department, and is a mess.
