This amber-colored flavored ale is brewed only in the autumn and combines the flavor of vine-ripened pumpkin pie flavor with traditional crystal malt.

Just too sweet and artificial for me. Murky orange. Big cinnamon and nutmeg in aroma. Taste is overwhelming sweet and vegetal. Pass it up.

355ml twist off bottle. Amber pour. Smell is pumpkin pie and toasted grain. Flavor is toasty with a pumpkin pie flavor, bit of sweetness, has an off bittersweetness but otherwise unoffensive.

Draft at Mellow Mushroom...a good combination of flavored beer without the "flavor" overpowering the beer

Bottle. Copper-amber color with small foamy white head that dissipates immediately, light pumpkin aroma, cinnamon flavored pumpkin taste, medium carbonation, thin body, abrupt finish. Good attempt at at a pumpkin ale.

Transfer from BA review on 10-9-13- Poured from bottle into a pint glass Appearance – The beer pours a clear orange-amber color with a nice two finger white head with just a light tint of orange. The head has a great level of retention, slowly fading over time to leave a decent level of foamy lace on the sides of the glass. Smell – The aroma is dominated by a pumpkin spice smell of nutmeg, cinnamon and allspice. Other lighter aromas of a roasted pumpkin and some brown sugar are there as well, giving it a very spiced pumpkin pie like smell. Taste – The taste begins with a bready and pumpkin puree like taste. Upfront there is sweetness of a caramel flavor, which transitions to a more brown sugar taste as the taste moves to the end. Along with the transitioning of the sweet so too comes the spice flavors that were detected in the nose. The spice doesn’t get as potent as the nose would have let one to believe however, remaining more on the lighter side. Along with the spice there is also a light citrus taste that is present throughout much of the middle and the end of the taste. All in all, in the end one is left with a lighter spiced pumpkin flavor to linger on the tongue. Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is on the average side in thickness with a carbonation level that is on the slightly lower side. A slightly thicker body may have been a bit better for accentuating the pumpkin flavors of the brew, but the lower carbonation did just that so overall the feel was pretty good. Overall – A decent and rather easy drinking pumpkin ale that is very accessible and rather affordable.

Pours a dark amber from the bottle with a thick white head that dissipates quickly and leaves no lacing in the glass. Aroma is bitter, kind of like a farmhouse ale. Not what I expected. Mild carbonation on the tongue. Taste is lightly sweet and medium bitter. Light bodied but feels creamy in the mouth. Notes of nutmeg and mild cinnamon on the tongue. Not bad.

One can almost get a bit of a pumpkin-esque flavor once the liquid hits the tip of your tongue, but it very very quickly fades to some bland vegetable taste with not much else to back it up. If the brew were smoother, silkier, heavier, and made with 10x more flavor it would be an acceptable drink. But it’s not.

It reminds me of a free Thanksgiving gift basket. The nose is spicy and if you'd like to call pumpkin a fruit, fruity. Nice off white head that disappeared fairly quick. Lacing is sparse but present. Taste is Fall seasonal spices, nutmeg, allspice, coriander? Pumpkin and maybe vanilla. Mouth feel is a bit dry. Overall after being scared away from pumpkin ale after the Shocktop incident I believe Blue moon has rebuilt my confidence. Cheers! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Smells good. Spice and roastiness. Looks beautiful. Crystal clear Auburn orange with a foamy off white head that fades pretty quickly. Thin mouthfeel with an edge on the finish. Some spice and veggie earthiness. Mostly pretty flat. It comes close to almost having some character but just falls short.
