This amber-colored flavored ale is brewed only in the autumn and combines the flavor of vine-ripened pumpkin pie flavor with traditional crystal malt.

My first pumpkin ale and disappointing. Smelled good but didn't taste as good. Good color though. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Rated from notes taken 23 Sep 2012 -- Honestly, it was ... meh. It’s blue moon though, what did I expect?

The body has a deep amber color with good clarity. Its head is off white in color and builds up big and fluffy before quickly fading to just a very thin covering. Lacing is slick and slides down the glass as I drink. Its aroma has hints of pumpkin with spicy clove and cinnamon over sweet bready malts. The flavor fairly mild with a semi-sweet bready malt mixed with touch of pumpkin and over cooked vegetables. Cinnamon, nutmeg, and pinch of clove add a pleasant spicy character that is well balanced and not overpowering. The finish picks up some mild hop bitterness and the spices slowly fade off the tongue. It has a slick watery texture with a light body and mild carbonation.

Bottle from backlog notes. Pours an orange amber color with a small off white head. The aroma and flavor have light pumpkin, mild spices the usual suspects, pale malts, light toast, just thinner and doesn’t pop like some of the other varieties out there.

More spice than pumpkin, not bad but not good, probably wouldn’t buy it again but if someone gave me one i’d drink it.

Reviewed from notes. The appearance had a brown/orange body and leaves a small one finger off-white head that dies within a half minute. Some spotty lacing is left and the body is too dark for any carbonation to be seen rising. The smell had some bitter pumpkin notes with some slight spices such as nutmeg, clove and cinnamon. The taste had the previously mentioned flavors with some light malts entering in. On the palate, it sat about a medium with slight harshness on the tongue. Overall, this is an average pumpkin beer. I’ll drink the rest, but probably won’t seek it out again.

The smell is revolting. The taste isn’t all that much better. I had to give up drinking this one.

Thanks to whomever left this gem after a party at my house. Drank from my bedroom while working at home during this snowstorm. Taste is your run of the mill pumpkin beers; nutmeg, cinnamon, heavy caramel malts, etc, etc. Actually not bad, but I have been over the pumpkin beers for about 3 months already. Still one of the better Blue Moon brews.

Deep amber pour with a thin white head. The aroma is quite spicy. Nutmeg, clove and cinnamon skin with some light sweet malt. A touch fruity with a bit of lingering earthy bitterness. Inoffensive.
