DKTN (110), Mc Donald, Tennessee, USA Jun 20, 2008 Bottle, 12 oz. Pours cloudy straw with a white head. Floral hop aroma with citrus and honey notes. Wheaty flavor, though somewhat watery. Dry finish.
I expected more and won’t buy this again. unclemike (834), Ft. Riley, Kansas, USA Jun 20, 2008 Bottle poured into pint glass. Poured a small mostly white head with big bubbles that disappeared VERY quickly. Beer is a tiny bit hazy, but not too cloudy. Honey flavor is evident right away. Hops are barely noticeable and at finish I almost get a ciderish flavor. Not bad for a macro brewed beer. Wegro (218), Fresno, California, USA Jun 20, 2008 Doesn’t smell so hot, kind of like a hefeweizen with something bad going on. flavor is nice but a weird sweetness lingers. the honey sweetness isn’t bad but there’s something grainy going on that i don’t care for. finishes pretty clean. i like it more than widmer hefeweizen. not bad at all.
Poobah (101), New Orleans, Louisiana, USA Jun 17, 2008 Poured golden with a nice head that settled into a light ring. Not much in the nose. Smooth intro with some carbonation in the medium, crisp mouthfeel. Obvious honey and ripe banana in the finish. Some floral notes. Good summer beer. Enjoyable. Guinness4Duff (507), Tallahassee (and Poconos, PA), Florida, USA Jun 16, 2008 Bottle. Hazy orangish golden pour with a thick white head. Mild wheat aroma with a faint orange scent and some noticeable honey. Weak flavor, not much wheat or spice to speak of, honey and orange dominates what taste there is. Body is about right, and it is easy drinking, so its not a complete loss. Holdwine (905), Beertimore, Maryland, USA Jun 16, 2008 Pretty good effort from this big brewer. Thirst quenching sweet wheat ale. Some nice citrus notes. Medium palate. kiefdog (1567), Tampa, Florida, USA Jun 15, 2008 12oz bottle from Total Wine Tampa. Pours a slightly cloudy golden color with a thin white head that provides minimal glass lacing. Aroma is somewhat sour with notes of bread, citrus and yeast. Watery mouthfeel with little discernible flavors other than slight hints of honey. Fairly uninteresting in terms of aroma, flavor and complexity -- however -- might be a good thirst quencher on a hot summer day. ChainGangGuy (2523), Kennesaw, Georgia, USA Jun 14, 2008 Appearance: Pours a lightly hazy, yellow body with a small, white head.
Smell: Crushed wheat crackers, light citrus, and a vague honeyish scent. There ya go!
Taste: Wheat and honey and a middling sweetness. Background taste of orange. Not much in the way of hop flavor or bitterness, though. Same till the finish, which unfortunately just deposits that cloying honey taste on your tongue. Be sure to have a glass of water handy!
Mouthfeel: Medium-thin body. Medium carbonation.
Drinkability: The standard-issue Blue Moon is acceptable. This, however, is kind of icky.
