3.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 bhensonb (8995) - Woodland, California, USA - DEC 10, 2012
Bomber from the Vacaville BevMo. Pours dark and very ruddy. Beautiful. Like the grape color hung in there. No head to mention. Aroma is vinous. Or like that. It is unusual, but quite attractive. Med body. Not heavily carbonated. Initial hit was- oh no, this isn’t going to be Welches? But a split second later it clearly was not, and the cabernet aspect was quite definite. If you’re a cab fan, you’ll probably get a kick out of this. It’s pretty. Very good, considering it’s a wheat beer. Very good anyway. My respect for Blue Moon just went up by leaps and heaps.

Blue Moon Impulse
750ml bottle. Pours red wine color, pink fizz. Aroma of fermented grape juice, not vinous at all. Flavors of cabernet, wheat malts. Tastes like a wine with the body of a beer. Thin wine finish, very fruity. The very best out of the Blue Moon Wine-beers.
(3565).
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 BOLTZ7555 (2378) - Phoenix, Arizona, USA - DEC 7, 2012
The most wine-inspired brews I’ve tried...surprising, I know! Concord, crimson, and garnet colored pour with a minimal eggshell head. Aroma is filled with grape, sourness, yeast, tart citrus, and pepper. Flavor is extremely reminiscent of Napa. Vinious with dark fruit, cherry and plum skin, spice, and vanilla. Better than expected!
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Mora2000 (4042) - McKinney, Texas, USA - DEC 8, 2012
The beer pours a purple color with a large pink (that’s right, pink) head. The aroma is very wine like. I get a lot of the cabernet sauvignon grapes, with a little bit of biscuit or wheat thrown in. The flavor is very similar. I get some fruity notes from the grapes, but there is also some tannic notes like you would get from a big cabernet. There is some wheat and other malt notes, but this is really all about the grapes. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

Tasted blind. Pinkish-purple pour with a thin white head. Grape juice, a bit of dry red wine, and a touch of sweetness. Taste has a bit of honey, red grape juice, and a dry, white grape finish. Thin and smooth, with a bit of soft carbonation.

750 ml bottle poured a hazy burgandy with a small lingering pinkish head. Aromas of red grapes, wheat, straw and light sour apple. Palate was light bodied and crisp with a dry finish. Flavors of wheat, straw, red grapes and light earthiness with a crisp dry lingering red grape finish.

From a bottle poured a purplish color with a small amount of head. Light tart malty flavor with a quick finish.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 arkurzynski (1190) - West Bend, Wisconsin, USA - DEC 11, 2012
Deep red-pink-purple with publish head. Nose is Belgian wit wheat, coriander, and light vanilla with the addition of a mild red wine/grape juice aroma. Flavor starts again with the Belgian wit character that gives way to slightly sweet red wine. Fairly well attenuated with zero alcohol presence. Overall, a bit of a watered-down wine feel to this, but drinkable.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 douglas88 (4479) - Salt Lake City, Utah, USA - MAY 11, 2013
750 ml from a liquor store in Jackson, WY. Fancy gold foil. Pours a deep purple color with a small white head. A light fruity nose. The wheat base fits pretty well with the grape juice, some light yeast, sweet grapes. Decent.
3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Palidor19 (2727) - Brandon, Florida, USA - JAN 25, 2013
The beer has a distinction of nice red grape juice with a distinct malty flavor. There is hardly any hoppy bitterness. This is so distinct that its worth your time.
