2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Draft to taster. Looks solid; a transparent golden orange with white head that steadily dissipates into lacing. Smells of Belgian yeast with a sweet backbone and notes of caramel. Tastes like it smells with what seems to be a bit of vegetal flavor. Average (at best) on the palate. Eh.

Nothing here move on. Terrible example of the style and an insult to beer (almost)

12 oz. bottle. Pours a deep copper color, almost reddish. Aroma of malt, banana and spices. Rather bland flavor of malt and spices. Medium light body with a sweet finish. I’ve had much better in the way of Abbey-style ales.

2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20
I don’t know why I get my hopes up with these beers. Maybe, it’s because I want one of these macro-brewers to grow a pair and brew something great and exciting. This was like Coors with a Belgian twist. It wasn’t offensive mind you, just bland. The aroma was faint and grainy and had a hint of adjuncts. Caramel brown color with a small fizzy head. Watery palate with high carbonation. Not much weight. It had this underlying Coors malt flavor with some caramel sweetness at the finish. Tolerable.

2.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Aroma is very light yeast, mild bananas and a hint of sweetness. The flavor is malts, cinnamon, light bubblegum and a mix of mild heat and tangy in the finish.

2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Tulip glass. Nose of malts, spices, maybe even some gingerbread. Dark amber, bit of head and lacing. Taste of malts with a slightly foul aftertaste. Carbonated mouth feel.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
draft, I drank this beer before I saw that it is considered an Abbey Ale. Better than most Blue Moon brews out there, but on the thin, watery, sweet side. Not a complex or balanced brew. But, it does have some potential.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Has a very weak aroma but, fortunately a less weak flavor. Still, the flavor is meek, even for Blue Moon, with a slightly sweet balance.
Feel: Near medium body and medium+ carbonation.
O: decent but too mild. Very light flavored compared to the Abita Amber sampled after it.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Had this on a chilly, snowy day so it was the perfect conditions according to the bottle. Too bad it just tastes like hops. I wanted more caramel and toffee (like it smelled) but it wasn’t much more than hoppy water.

I put this in a make-your-own six-pack just to see. I’ve had other BM beers that weren’t bad, but ugh. I’ve had medicines that tasted better. The yeast doesn’t seem to bring anything to the table. No hop presence. I don’t get any rich caramel or toffee. Just nothing redeeming about it.
