COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
We crafted our single-style abbey ale with select roasted malts, a hint of Belgian sugar, and a touch of wheat for a rich, caramel flavor and a wonderfully smooth toffee finish. It’s perfect for those chilly winter days.

Bottle. Pours a dark brown watery looking color. Taste is kind of artificial with some banana, clove and cinnamon. Another blah seasonal from the Blue Moon/Coors guys

I figured I’d try this as part of a build your own 6 pack. Definitely disappointing which I guess wasn’t a big surprise. No aroma and barely any flavor.

Bottle. Pour is a deep red brown. Aroma of caramel, nutty pecan, and toffee. Taste is slightly sweet with a hint of sour.

Part of their Brewmaster’s seasonal sampler for winter 2013-14. Pours a clean copper colour with a creamy-fizzy off-white head that stays quite a while and leaves thick lacing. Mild roasted malt nose with hints of spices. You can taste more the roasted malt but the finish is quick. A little sweetness from the caramel notes. Not a bad ale, but not even close to being an Abbey.

Rich amber coloured body with a nice one centimetre tall just off-white head. Aroma of malt, light yeast, bread, a touch of spices and a bit of caramelised sugars. Medium-bodied; Strong malty flavour with nuts, earth and a bit of toffee - not much else. Aftertaste shows some bread, yeast and a lot of cardboardie malt - not too great. Overall, not such a great beer, but that was to be expected - nice to try though. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle pulled from a twelve pack sampler after a hockey game in Fairfax, Virginia on 15-November-2013 - Thanks Alex!

Pours an absolutely gorgeous red/copper with a tan head. Aroma is all malt. Flavor is a slightly bitter Belgian-style malt with a hint of caramel in the aftertaste.

12 oz bottle. Pours a beautiful mahogany color with very little head. Belgian yeast is noticeable up front, but everything fades pretty quickly after that. Kinda bleah....

Weak and unimpressive, medium brown body with almost zero head. Sour malt aroma. Flat malt flavor with none of the spiciness Belgians are known for. Pass!

As a belgian ale this is pretty pathetic. Some slight sweetness, but it’s just about what you’d expect if you heard Coors was doing a Belgian Ale. Worst Belgian Ale ever.

12 oz. Clear copper-brown with a lasting spit of cream. Aroma is toffee, yeasty bread, toasted pecan and light citrus zest. Tastes of toast, roasted walnut, toffee, plums, dry cocoa and lightly peppery citrus zest. Light-medium body is balanced by an increasingly roasty-dry and slightly astringent finish. Medium-high carbonation is a tad much at times but seems mostly fitting for the beer. Pleasant surprise that doesn’t seem to have the typical Blue Moon metallic twang that ruins most of their offerings for me.
