COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
We crafted our single-style abbey ale with select roasted malts, a hint of Belgian sugar, and a touch of wheat for a rich, caramel flavor and a wonderfully smooth toffee finish. It’s perfect for those chilly winter days.

Decent looking amber colored ale. A very sweet flavor full of caramel, brown sugar, toffee, an nutmeg. A spicy finish that is very short. Too sweet for my taste but nothing really offensive. Calling this an Abbey ale is a gimmick though.

Overly sweet, although plenty of dark fruit and bubblegum esters. More unbalanced than bland.

Shared with Strykzone via Facebook Chat. I am sorry to say I inflicted this brew on him. Pours a clear amber color with a big bubbled off-white head and no lacing. Nose is sweet caramel malts. Nothing else. Light body with a thin mouth feel Flavor shows almost nothing except the malts. There is hint of other things...such as fruit or nuts, but they are almost undetectable. No finish of any kind. My wife Melanie took a sip and I think summered this up perfectly "Starts out as nothing...works its way up in the middle to nothing, and finishes with nothing" This is about as nothing a beer can be.

12 ounce bottle from Hayduke that we had together via facebook chat. This pours clear dark amber with some red. A beige ring. Not a big aroma but some toffee and malts. This is a nice enough beer but there us just not a lot going on. Toffee and malts. Something like chocolate. The key words for this beer are "not quite." It is not quite a lot of things. But it is not quite a good beer. To that it is not close.

Whatever they were going for here .........the missed!!! " A rich caramel flavor and a smooth toffee finish" my red haired ass!!! This does have a weird, peculiar aftertaste that is interesting but quite pleasant, but other than that it misses whatever mark it was shooting for!!

I had this on tap once and enjoyed it...bottled is another story. Not as rich and chestnutty. I do like the dark copper with reddish hues and dark center. This beer is too sweet for me. A mouth full of pure sugar in each gulp. More alcohol and less sugar. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Coppery bronze, nice fluffy white head. Sweet, bubblegum aroma. Taste is some caramel and tobacco, plus some other mushy sweet flavors.

The color is a clear chestnut color with a medium off-white head, and the aroma blends a heavy dough yeast with a hint of caramel malts. The taste is mildly sour and a touch sweet, and the palate fuses an average carbonation, medium body, thin texture, and a lightly sour finish.

Bottle, room 212, 19/02/14. White lidded mahogany. Malt loaf with strawberry jam nose. Malt loaf studded with black cherry; light nuttiness and rusk in the afters. Sweet and inoffensive in a dobbelbock diluted with cheap tinned brown bitter kind of way.

Poured from a bottle into a plastic cup with an orange slice at a hockey game. Better than expected. Slightly dark amber, citrus and malt, slight carbonation.

Drinkable but flawed. The most important observation is that it has a pronounced sweetness alomg with its caramel flavor. Belgian but only in an American way, like a saccharin Disney style interpretation of Belgium at Epcot Center.
