COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Pale Moon is a drinkable pale ale that has a distinctive hop aroma without the lingering aftertaste. This Belgian-Style Pale Ale is brewed with European malts, Cascade hops, and a touch of hibiscus and orange peel. These ingredients create a rich copper colored ale with a flavor complexity that one would expect from the Blue Moon Brewing Company.

Pale amber colour, with a thin head. Taste isn’t up to the normal Blue Moon though.

Bottle from mixed 12 pack. Pours amber. Small white head that quickly dissipates. Mild spice aroma. Flavor of malt + bitter. That combo doesn’t work well in the mouthfeel. To me this is a weird combo and it just didn’t work. Least favorite of the Blue Moon series.

First swig is just nasty & that nasty just doesn’t go away... half way thru i am wondering where the "hibiscus" is.... one thing i really dislike about beer is the aftertaste of hops ... the one thing i hate about this beer is the fact that i cannot breath thru my nose without the nasty smells after swallowing....this beer gets the prohibition treatment - poured to the drain before .25 of the bottle is gone.

An interesting and enjoyable twist on the old Blue Moon recipe. Pacific North-Westerners are sure to enjoy.

Dark yellow, clear, huge head. Light, mostly malt aroma. Taste is a tad sweet with malt and a hint of spice. A decent intro Belgian ale but not much more as there’s not enough flavor to get the point across.

Standard taste, nothing great stands out with this beer...certainly not the best of the blue moon series

Blue Moon is a good beer for the price. It is easily accessible to everyone.

12 oz bottle left on my balcony for almost a month from a mix pack a friend brought over. Final of the rateables. Pours a decent hazed golden amber pour, some more glow and dark gold in the edges. A sizable frothy offwhite head is thicker, sticks around as a layer, laces ok overall. Aromas are dry florals and grass, touches of citrus, herbal earthy elements, flaked wheat, pale malts offer a decent sweetness, touch of dryness. A decent hopping, earthy herbal quality that gets a touch heavy as it warms, gets much more doughy and bready too. Initial is weird, offering bready malts, pale malts, flaked wheat, an odd honey note up front. Herbal elements, chamomile, dry grass and floral hops are mellow but stick, giving odd play with the spice. A sticky middle, with more bread, wheat, and touches of fruit and mellow honey. Some dryness into the finish, lingering spice and earthy bland hops play with the herbal elements and it just strikes me odd. Orange peel, some dryness, and florals. The Hibiscus gives a distinct flavor that doesn’t suit my tastes. Dryness and earthy qualities dance out, interchanging with the odd sweetness. Not my thing.
