COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Pale Moon is a drinkable pale ale that has a distinctive hop aroma without the lingering aftertaste. This Belgian-Style Pale Ale is brewed with European malts, Cascade hops, and a touch of hibiscus and orange peel. These ingredients create a rich copper colored ale with a flavor complexity that one would expect from the Blue Moon Brewing Company.

12 oz. 2012 bottle served in a Unibroue snifter. Pours clear deep amber with a tan head that has limited durability but leaves fine lacing on on the glass. The sweet aroma is malty with hints of toffee, orange and vague spices. The flavor is a little subdued but nicely crafted -- the hallmark of Blue Moon. Both the aroma and the flavor are slightly floral. Belgian yeast is apparent but certainly not pronounced. Light-medium body with good medium carbonation. O: slightly above average. Best suited for transitional (towards craft beers) beer drinkers.

There is no real difference between this and the regular ole Blue Moon. Not a bad beer by any means but don’t think you’re getting something special just because it looks different.

thedm (4773) - Fort Wayne, USA - DEC 25, 2012
This bottled brew from a grocery store poured a small sized head of foamy finely sized tan colored bubbles that were quickly diminishing and left behind a softly carbonated transparent light orange brown colored body and a good lacing. The mild aroma was malty. The mouth feel was tingly at the start and at the finish. The mild flavor contained notes of nutty caramel hops and malt. An OK brew just nothing special.

12oz bottle at Mom’s. Rating #290. Clear copper color with a white head. Decent amount of hop aroma, piney with a touch of sweetness. Light lemon and hop flavor, very drinkable and not too bad. (2610)

Very drinkable beer, though nothing outstanding. Nice copper color and slight hop aroma. Not overly bitter or sweet.

A very light amber brew. Frothy light tan head. Light carbonation. Strong metallic aromas. Flavor is a bit musty. Body is thin and uninspiring. Light malty finish.

Bottle. Good easy drinking beer at a reasonable price point. If you are a Belgian beer fanatic this is not something you are going to be into. It could be a good gateway beer for Bud drinkers to make a crossover to more flavorful fare.

Belgian ale that tastes more of chemicals than malts and fruit. Definite citrus, definite dark fruit, but really just stale.

Drank with Blue Moon variety pack. Pours muddy orange. Mild caramel malt, citrus. Drinkable in the variety pack, not worthwhile on it’s own.
