3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Aroma is of roasted malt and piney hops. Pretty descent aroma. Taste is not as good as the aroma. Lacks a full body and the flavors really are faint relative to the aroma. Palate is a bit watery.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
From the 650 ml. bottle marked MAR3114-C210011342. It is a deep mahogany amber pour with reddish hues and great clarity. A modest off-white head. Aroma of pine needs and juniper berries mainly as promised. Medium body and smooth. The taste tends to highlight the juniper berries over the hop bitterness although there is still plenty of that there. I kind of liked it.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Clear caramel with a quickly fading tan topper. Aroma is very dank with resinous piney hops, malt and mild juniper berries. Taste is full bodied with the juniper evident. Sweet and malty with fruity notes, some pine and finishes rather bitter. Low expectations exceeded.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Poured clear copper color with an average off-white head that was mostly lasting with good lacing. Moderate spruce aroma. Medium body with a slick texture and soft carbonation. Medium smooth bitter flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration. This is a much better DIPA than I was expecting from Blue Moon.

1.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 4/20
22oz (picked up at the Pacific Beach single Vons location (used to be a double Vons here)) custom blue moon bomber with twist off cap (oh, thatís classy) that pours with a crystal clear copper body that supports a weak tan head. The mild aroma offers up berry fruitiness, vague sugary sweetness and a faint note of cherry nuanced molasses mixed with faint pine like hops. The taste begins with sweet malts, sweet and a bit tart berry juice and some pine hops that slide into a hop astringent sort of bitter tartness or this also could be a fruit skin sort of tart astringency. It stays pretty much that way into the disappointing finish. Wow, not redeeming in any way I can see and this fruity berry sort of note is not working. Letís see, endless deep pockets (compared to 99.9% of the other breweries), decade upon decade of experience and they want to make a hoppy brew and this is what results? This is a shameful combination of sad pathetic and wasteful. Hereís an idea, how about just make a kick ass clean straight forward IPA or IIPA that will leave customers begging for more. Nah, make this garbage instead.
