3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Clear amber, small white head.
Malty, spruce/juniper aroma.
Pretty mild to be billed a s double...caramel and evergreens...
Not bad, especially for Blue Moon, but a little rough in the balance.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Blue Moon (Graffiti Collection) Pine in the Neck has a very thick, somewhat soapy, off-white head, a deep, golden-orange appearance, bubble streams, lots of sediment roiling about, and heavy lacing left behind. Aroma is of sweet, white bread and piney hop oil. Taste is of all that, with a hefty bitterness that charges forward during the sip. Mouthfeel is medium and slick, and Pine in the Neck finishes mostly dry, refreshing, and exceptionally drinkable. This beer proves, once again, that the major brewers can produce craft beers that can go toe to toe with just about anything on the market. Drinking this, one can understand the insecurity and outright fear that one notices in the rhetoric of the craft breweries. I love it! RJT

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
Sampled from a 22 oz brown bottle this beer poured a dark caramel color with a medium sized foamy orange-tan head that lingered and left decent lacing. The aroma was tangy and sweet pine, grapefruit and perfume. The flavor was tangy and sour pine, lemon, perfume, citrus zest and an off and odd presence I could not quite place. Long tangy sour, pine and lemon finish with a lingering odd presence. Moderately full bodied. Meh.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Pours a clear copper body with a small off-white fizzy head that left some nice lacing. The nose is pretty nice, lots of citrusy and piney hops over a hefty slightly sweet caramel malt base. Canít say that I get much in the way of juniper on the nose, but thereís a pretty heavy hoppiness so Iím not all that surprised and I donít consider that a negative. The flavor is a little less bitter than I was expecting given the intensity of the hops on the nose. Still pretty nice though, and the sweetness is kept in check pretty well also, so that helps with the overall balance. The juniper is pretty noticeable on the finish though, after the hops fade a bit. I kinda like the interplay between the piney hops up front, and the transition to the juniper towards the finish. I also like that the sweetness is rather low. Medium bodied and just a bit clingy with nice fizzy carbonation that enhances the hops and juniper. Pretty decent beer. Extra cred for being in the $5 range for a bomber too.
