3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Crystal clear copper/amber with a foamy white head. Sweet caramel and pine aroma. Nice, strong piney hop taste and good balance with dark caramel sweetness and light chocolate. An earthy bitterness takes over after this and continues to build as you drink. A bittersweet chocolate taste follows this up which is surprising. Finishes lightly sweet with a lasting, tongue coating bitterness with a bit of cooked vegetable (but not in a bad way). Very tasty and the first beer from Blue Moon I’ve had that doesn’t taste like a variation on the original.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
From a 22 oz bottle into a Saxo stem glass. Pours golden amber with head and lace. Aroma of wet towels and pine needles. Medium carbonation and significant mouthfeel. Flavors of grains, straw hops, minerals, pine, citrus, bitter herbs. Overall bold, flavorful, OK.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pour from a 22oz bomber. Dazzeling clear tawny amber brew with slightly off white head. Nice aroma of pine and earth. Taste is resin up front offset by moderate malts, seems to lose momentum and ends with a moderate degree of pine, earth and lingering sweetness. Overall a rock solid DIPA.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Sampled at GABF 2014. Pours a light golden body wiht white lacing. Aroma is pine, light alcohol spice and subtle caramel malt character. Mouthfeel is light to medium with notes of pine, resin, bitter hop, clean caramel malt. Not a terrible beer!

Bomber from Capone’s. Hazy dark straw pour with off-white head, Very reiny hoppy nose, with some caramel malt, and a hoppy flavor that got a bit bitter and malt-light at the finish. OK.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Tasted on 2/8/14 from a bottle at the hotel after the RBWG Grand Tasting. Pours hazy orange with an average white head that slowly recedes to average, sticky lace. The nose is full of pine resin and juniper, almost like some gin snuck into a fairly malty IPA. The flavor is even more bitter than anticipated, dominated by the pine resin and juniper, with just a bit of caramel malt backing everything up. The body is lighter than I expected with lively carbonation and a long bitter resin and herbal juniper finish.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
This goes to show that quality beer can even been done by those non-craft breweries when they take their time and develop a good recipe. There isn’t anything special about this beer, but it still decent. Sweet malt backbone and a nice pine hop presence.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Sweet, caramel malt aroma and flavor. Secondary pine in the aroma; more subtle in the flavor... some herbal/leafy flavor, but not super piney, specifically. Some hop spiciness, and moderate bitterness.

1.9 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
Bomber into tulip. I like the screenprinted label, but the twist-off cap is cheesy. Clear orange/deepst amber, attractive ivory head. Timid candylike baby aspirin and hand lotion aroma… candycorn... smells a lot like regular Blue Moon, but with a dash of turmeric and rubbing alcohol. Tastes like Grolsch, in fact I would call this Oktoberfest before even considering it as either ale or "India". Slightly tinny and not-quite-skunky. There are SOME hops, but they are woody rather than piney, and far, FAR too impotent to be considered DIPA. I can almost detect juniper... or is it just the power of suggestion? Watery body. Artificial sweetener finish and aluminum-and-paper aftertaste. Overall, an average eurolager... but DIPA? Fuck

Pour from bottle in SA. Piney and somehow very smooth for an IPA. I like it. Best blue moon beer I've had.
