Bomber from Total Wine in Folsom, CA. Pours clear copper with a creamy/foamy off-white head. Aroma of mild caramel with some light hop. Might be pine. Med body. Flavor is juniper with light caramel and arguably piney/resin hop. Flavors are mild, except for the juniper. Interesting. Drinkable. But not top end/high ingredient ale. Finishing lightly juniper and bitter.

Tap sample at CBWF. Poured clear copper color with an average frothy off-white head that was mostly lasting with good lacing. Moderate spruce aroma. Medium body with a slick texture and soft carbonation. Medium smooth bitter flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration. This is a good beer.

An amber ale with a thin off white head. In aroma, restrained floral hops over biscuit malt, oily. In mouth, a nice biscuit malt with grassy floral hops well balanced, decent. On tap at Downtown Brew fest LV 2013.

Tap @ Black Bottle. Pours a fairly clear amber appearance with a khaki head. Slight vegetal/celery, piney, grapefruity aroma. Flavor has no notice of the celery note and is fairly pleasant with pretty rich spicy, piney hops and some citrus. Not bad.

Short: A ’crafty’ DIPA that is half decent

Origin: 651mL Sample: 3oz Glass: Reidel Razor Stemless Tulip Price: Gift Date: 1/19/14
Long: Thank you DedicatedToFun for this wale. Clear orange pour with weak foam. Nose is perfume, booze, white alcohol, flashes of citrus hops. Taste is bitter orange peel. Palate isn’t too sticky, somewhat juicy. Not harsh, tannic, nutty, or papery. Decent all around
Flaws: Just call it Blue Moon Double IPA
Remedy: Don’t make a Blue Moon Double IPA

Bomber. Poured clear, bright reddish-orange with a dense, well-retained beige head. The aroma picked up a big hit of pine and grassy notes plus a kiss of juniper over sweet caramel.. not terribly complex, but it was aiight. The flavor found bitter, aggressive pine needles and a bit of herbal character on the tip of the tongue.. sweet caramel followed, but the transition to it wasn’t great.. finished with resiny bitterness, medicinal notes, and a fair dose of residual sugars. Medium-plus bodied with full carbonation on the palate.. some good stuff in there, but it was rough around the edges.

Bottle. Orange malt and light pine aroma. Golden yellow with small head. Sweet orange malt and moderately bitter juniper/tin flavor. Okay but a bit harsh.
