3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 17/20
While not a supporter of Blue Moon and Coors, I would be interested to see what a rater might think about this beer if they didnít know who made it. While its not the best, it is much farther from the ratings given previously and I am glad to at least see a true effort to make a more unique beer (even if this particular style has been done by the folks at DFH etc).
Pours a clear golden color with an effervescence that settles off quickly. Aroma is a dry, musty white grape-pineapple sweetness. The taste is very much a hybrid of wine and beer with the white wine flavors (middle of the road as far as sweet vs dry) up front and the body embracing the malt of a beer (I can taste the signature of a blue moon underneath). Really not a bad beer and certainly these ratings reflect the company vs the beer.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
750 ml bottle, best by date of Oct2113 stamped on the bottle. Guess Iíve had this in the fridge a while! Served in a tulip, the beer pours a clear dark gold color with a half inch off-white head. Head retention is decent, and there isnít much lacing at all. Aroma is nice but very light, the brew smells like bready/wheat malt, white grapes and a bit of booziness. It tastes like bready/wheat malt, tart grape juice, white grapes, and some floralness. Mouthfeel/body is medium, itís a bit slick and coating with moderate carbonation. Iím thinking I might have waited too long to drink this one, but it really wasnít bad at all. Still, if this is ever released again in the future I should try this fresher to see how it is.

3.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Winey nose, super crisp and effervescent. Amber with little to no head retention. More like a wine than a beer. Goes down like a light beer, but at 8.5%.NOTE: Not a good beer with wings.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle poured into a snifter. Pours a clear, dark gold with a half finger of white head. Aroma of white grape juice with a little dank wheat. Taste is slightly tart, winey grape juice with a little wheat. Light bodied with a slightly sticky texture. Fizzy carbonation and a surprisingly long finish. Overall, not bad. Drinkable and enjoyable, but I was expecting more.

Clear bright gold beer, small white head. Palate is smooth, turning a little dry. Fine minerally carbonation. Smooth malt and a nicely judged amount of grape. Not cloying and not acid. Minerally finish with lager like pale malt character. Light and refreshing.

bottle. Golden with small head. Strong wheat beer aged in wine barrels. Light tartness from the wine. Good, but not great.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
9/20/2013: Blue Moon Proximity... Pale straw color with quite a bit of off-white foam on top. Smells a lot like a white wine (Reisling, actually). The flavor is mostly semi-sweet Reisling with just a slight musty wheatiness hiding underneath. There is a pretty high level of carbonation, so this beer feels light and airy on the palate, not unlike Champagne. Truth be told, the alochol level is really well-hidden. Overall, this beer isnít bad, but itís clearly more wine than beer since the fruitiness and flavor of the white grapes dominate. Furthermore, this beer is truly way too expensive for what it is. For a truly excellent blend of beer and wine, try Dogfish Head Sixty-One! Draught sample(s) at Party Town in Florence, KY. Rating #53 for this beer.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
750ml bottle poured into my Chimay Chalice. Pours a clear golden color with a fizzy white head that fadded and leaves razor thin to no lacing. Smells of wine grapes, Wheat, coriander, and light malt. Tastes of all the same thing in the smell. Mouthfeel is mediumand slick with decent carbonation and a dry finish. Overall its decent but the appearance and mouthfeel kind of hurt this beer. Promising but didnít live up to the potential it could of had. Glad I only paid $4.99 on clearance instead of the $9.99 they were originally ask for.

Yellow clear pour. Smells of white wine, peaches, juice. Tastes like half wheat/half white wine-very good at representing both. Boring one not though. palate is bad. not much body & overly carbed.
