valpoaj (297), Valparaiso, Indiana, USA Apr 11, 2008 On tap...pours medium golden with a thin head. Aroma is odd...very corn like with some yeast and citrus (lime) accents. Flavor is, well, not very good. Too much Corona going on here...I’m a fan of citrusy flavored beers, but the dominant lime flavor (which is very sour) is just too much...most of what is behind the lime is corn-like and somewhat bitter...almost medicinal. Not a good combination. Nothing great on the palate, highly carbonated and fizzy. Whew, glad I only got a sample of this one!
tilldeath (26), Arvada, Colorado, USA Oct 2, 2008 not bad but not what I was expecting. Much like the pumpkin, this beer has a serious lack of flavor up front and makes me wonder did the take unfiltered coors light and let some limes sit in it for a day and try and pass it off as this?? jcdsmack (46), Henderson, Nevada, USA Sep 25, 2008 It’s not bad. The lime is interersting the malt flavor is a little heavy to mix with the lightnesss of the lime not a whole lot of hop character. I would drink it again but it is sort of a strange mix between styles that leaves something to be desired. nqualls (420), Tennessee, USA Sep 19, 2008 Bottle. This is by far the worst Blue Moon offering. The hint of lime is gross. Would rather drink Coors Light. stchloe (197), Portland, Oregon, USA Sep 7, 2008 Because I cannot bash on this line enough. Interesting addition of Kieffer lime. No one likes Coors. DarkElf (2681), La Jolla, California, USA Aug 18, 2008 30-Jun-08 (12-oz bottle, Best by 08-Jun-08: BevMo in La Jolla, CA) At its core, this is just another generic wheat beer with a heavy, very bready flavor. However, with each sip, the lime has enough presence to balance the wheat base in the entry. Unfortunately, within a few seconds, the lime fades off the palate, leaving the unpleasant, wheaty aftertaste of stale bread and heavy yeast. It’s medium in body and carbonation, but without a balanced and cleansing finish, the palate is left feeling unrefreshed. Lime is fairly prominent in the nose, but when swirled, the beer projects cardboard and bready wheat. Hazy golden in color and capped by a large, bubbly, off-white head that eventually settles to a thin ring. As it is, this isn’t a very enjoyable beer, but imagine where it would be without the lime! With poor drinkability being the main issue here, drink this beer cold and have food handy to quickly pick up where the lime leaves off.
