In the 1940’s, Belgian-Style Pale Ales grew in popularity and were ordered by the round due to their balanced taste. Rounder, our expression of this sessionable style, is crafted with hibiscus and orange peel for a hint of spiciness and touch of wheat for a smoother, rounder taste.

Malts: Pale, Imported Caramel, Imported Light Caramel, White Wheat
Hops: Cascade
Our Twist: Orange Peel, Hibiscus

It poured a dark copper color with an off-white head. The aroma was of orange peel and a hint of nuttiness. The taste was refreshing with a touch of caramel, a little brown sugar, nuttiness and some underlying citrus. Decent.

Very little aroma. Small head that dissipates quickly. Very bitter - until now I thought all Blue Moon beers were sweet. Highly carbonated. Reminds me of an IPA, but not as good.

Poured an amber color with a thick off white head. Smell is non existent, maybe a little sugar. Taste is just a little grapefruit and wheat and that’s about it. Needs more of a hop profile to make it a good beer, otherwise its just really boring.

Pours clear copper with a thin off-white head. Adequately beery without being all that interesting.

Bottle. Pours a clear reddish amber body with a small fizzy off-white head that fell to a thin film. The nose is pretty light, a little bit of wheat, light spice, a touch of bready malt. The flavor is pretty bland and boring with just a light sweetness and some minimal spiciness. Some caramel and a bit of orange peel on the finish. Lighter bodied with a bit of clinginess on the back end and fizzy prickly carbonation. No real problems with this one, it’s just a little too bland and boring. Some of these Blue Moon beers might be decent if they weren’t filtered completely.

From the 12 fl. oz. bottle stamped: SEP3013-FO5100615. The pour is reddish amber with a moderate off-white head that lingers a little while but eventually goes away. Caramel malts and Belgian candied sugars on the nose that is for certain. Hops in the distant background. The body is creamy and medium. The taste is very sweet almost to the extreme. It tastes like a sweeter variation on their Winter Abbey Ale.

Bottle poured a clear reddish amber with a small lating creamy amber head. Aromas of bread, light carmel and light floral notes. Palate was light to medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of carmel, spice and light hibiscus with a smooth lingering spiced finish.

Clear, amber-brown pour with a small, white head. The aroma has sweet bread, caramel, and light, earthy hops. It has a light, crisp texture with lively carbonation. The taste is bittersweet with a slightly sweet finish.

arminjewell (6434) - Hastings, Minnesota, USA - JUN 10, 2013
Pour out of 12 oz bottle, clear dark orange pour with thin white head, aroma brought notes of some metal, slight cardboard and grass notes, hints of orange, slight caramel. Taste is a mix of orange, slight metal, cardboard, hints of grass, earth, slight spice, caramel, finishing slightly metallic again, hints of bitter and dry. Once was plenty.
