In the 1940’s, Belgian-Style Pale Ales grew in popularity and were ordered by the round due to their balanced taste. Rounder, our expression of this sessionable style, is crafted with hibiscus and orange peel for a hint of spiciness and touch of wheat for a smoother, rounder taste.

Malts: Pale, Imported Caramel, Imported Light Caramel, White Wheat
Hops: Cascade
Our Twist: Orange Peel, Hibiscus

Nice smooth balanced profile with light floral and malty notes in the aroma. Very round mouthfeel with slight bitter tartness at the end. Pours deep brown with a one finger white head. Lacks Belgian yeast character, but we’ll overlook that since it does a lot of other things right. A good light, but full-flavored, summer quencher.

bottle. amber with small head. light belgian spice and mild hops. Not bad, especially for what it is, but not going to win any awards.

~Sweet honey bready aroma with spice and orange. ~Pours a clear beautiful orange amber color with lasting creamy off white head. ~Flavor of very sweet honey caramel bread and spice. ~Medium bodied with medium CO2, sweet finish with a lingering spiciness. ~Enjoyable brew. A bit on the sweet side, but I do enjoy it.

Slightly hoppy beer with a decent malty flavor...medium heaviness and refreshment character... not blue moons best

Type: 12-oz. bottle Glass: Firestone restaurant pint glass From: Target in Mission Valley (San Diego), Calif. Price: $15.99 for the Brewmaster’s Seasonal Sampler variety 12-pack Purchased: April 17, 2013 Consumed: April 19, 2013 Misc.: N/A Poured a caramel copper color with two fingers of khaki white head. Sporadic foamy lacing on the sides. Good retention all the way down. Definitely malt heavy on the sniff. Got lemon grass, honey, caramel, bread and cereal. Some lingering citrus hops (orange peel) after the forward malts. A little bit of iced tea as well. Tasted pretty close to the nose. Really got that sugary iced tea taste more than anything else. Also lemon grass, honey, bread, faint caramel, orange peel and some rye. Medium body. Creamy-to-sticky texture. Average-to-lively (above average) carbonation. Smooth, refreshing finish. Very good Belgian Pale Ale. I’ve been pleasantly surprised with this Blue Moon variety 12-pack. I’d have this again for sure.

Soft, sweet, honeyish-caramel malt aroma. Ruddy, medium amber beer, thin head. Twistoff, embossed longneck. Nice - right in my stylistic wheelhouse. A little tannic, pleasantly bittered, mildly sweet, a bit sweaty, mineral and tangerine peel notes. Medium body, frothy mouthfeel. Slight clinginess in the high palate at the finish. Aftertaste gets a little floral. The best of the new offerings in the Spring 2013 mixpack. Walmart.

Bottle shared with Andrew, Brendan and Streets, served as more of a palate cleanser in between stouts. Pours a clear amber brown body with light lacing. Aroma is pretty weak - maybe some sweet malt and candy. Super muted overall. Mouthfeel is thin with not too much going on. Another Blue Moon variant that doesnt necessarily offend in any way besides its over-the-top dullness.

Not bad, amber/copper color, modest head. Nose was caramelized malts and a light bit of phenol, touches of raisin, banana, and clove. Medium palate, a lot of carbonation, easy drinking.
