COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In the 1940’s, Belgian-Style Pale Ales grew in popularity and were ordered by the round due to their balanced taste. Rounder, our expression of this sessionable style, is crafted with hibiscus and orange peel for a hint of spiciness and touch of wheat for a smoother, rounder taste.

Malts: Pale, Imported Caramel, Imported Light Caramel, White Wheat
Hops: Cascade
Our Twist: Orange Peel, Hibiscus

Not much going on hear. Like a cheerleader that cheers from inside a room. It's all just muted. There is no pepiness.. No life. No hops. No aroma. So I found it sadly to be a let down. A flavor flop. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle thanks to Gentiles owner. Pretty well balanced. Good carb and bod. Yeasty aroma with grain. Similar taste. Like blue moon without spices

High on drinkability but extremely low on aromas and flavors. Come to think of it, that’s the philosophy of the dinosaur brewers.

Pours a copper / amber color with a slightly off white head. Aroma is faint when cold but as it warms up the smell is of wet grains and light floral undertones. The taste was lightly sweet malts. Mouth feel is thin. Not a bad beer but nothing outstanding.

"somehow forgot to rate this one...had to dig a little for the notes. not bad for blue moon. wither they didn’t f it up, or i just dig the style. probably a little of each. still average at best, for a cool style, but something i don’t mind drinking. the bitterness from the hops nicely offsets the slightly muddled malt and spice(?)."

12 oz bottle. Reddish amber with a thick frothy off-white head. Aroma is soft malts, flowers, fall spices. Caramel, corn syrup, spice, oranges.

Compared to other Blue Moon brews, I was pleasantly surprised with this one. The taste of hibiscus and sweetness draws this into a great balanced Pale Ale, despite its lack of hop. Still, though, I wouldn’t trust Blue Moon to know what to do with hops if they had any so it’s a good beer despite the ill-fitting name.

Looked like a nice amber color. I didn’t read the ingredients before I poured it but I noticed a sweet / fruity smell. Then I read there is orange peel in it. It was medium body, average carbonation, medium sweetness, lightly bitter. It was good.

Clear medium amber with minimal white head. Light Earthy hops. Toasty. Semi dry. Some syrupy sweetness. Kinda strange. Not that good.

Transfer from BA review on 4-24-13- Poured from bottle into a pint glass Appearance – Pours an amber copper color with only the tiniest bit of a white head. The head being small is lost almost instantly, leaving only trace lace on the sides of the glass. Smell – The aroma is heaviest of caramel and a bready and lightly roasted malt aroma. A bit of an almost herbal smell are mixed with these as well as a light citrus and Belgian spice smell (although these are very weak in comparison to many of the other Belgian style ales produced by Blue Moon). Taste – A big caramel sweetness greets the tongue with a strong showing of a bready flavor as well. As the flavor advances it remains rather sweet with some orange and tangerine flavors coming more toward the middle and the end. In the middle of the taste a hint of coriander and a toffee like flavor also join the profile. While overall rather sweet, some hop flavors of a citrus nature greet the tongue at the end giving a little bitter bite to mellow some of the sweet caramel, toffee and citrus flavors. Mouthfeel- The body of the beer is on the medium side with a carbonation level that is rather average as well. Not bad for the style although a slightly higher carbonation level may have better accentuated the sweeter caramel and fruit flavors of the brew slightly better. Overall – A rather tasty and quite easy drinking brew that was on the rather cheap side ($ 14 for a 12 pack sampler). A rather enjoyable brew overall.
