Farmhouse Ales were brewed for the diligent farmhands who drew the short straw and had to work the arduous harvest. Our brewmaster’s expression blends the spiciness of a Farmhouse Ale with the tartness of a Flanders Red for a remarkably refreshing finish. Malts: Caramel Malt Pale Malt, European Abbey Malt, European Acidulated Malt, Chocolate Malt, Malted White Wheat Hops: Spalt Select, Czech Saaz Our Twist: White Pepper, Coriander, Hibiscus

Formerly know as "Farmhouse Red Ale"

I don't know. I didn't like it. Super coriander and a like sour/tart touch. I think over done highlighting nothing. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

pours a translucent red-amber. some malty aroma. flavours of caramel, brown sugar and some molasses. finishes with heavy malt and some pepper. certainly not a bad brew for a macro, but would have expected much more based on the commercial description. Still, beats a Bud Light any day.

Pours a clear amber with quickly fading head leaving spotty lacing. Aroma is bready, ashy, with some artificial strawberry or grape fruitiness. Taste is tart cherry, lightly sour, very carbonated with a almost decent but hollow bready aftertaste. Not a drain pour, but only marginally better than a macrobrew pale lager. Really sticky fruity mouthfeel left behind. OK this isn’t horrible; it went down pretty easy.

"A surprisingly pleasant floral, fruity aroma. Slightly tast berry sweetness too, ditto for the flavor, with a little caramel malt. Slightly tangy finish. the feel is a bit light and prickly, but really, this is better than expected. Winter mixer."

Tastes exactly like all other blue moon. Too much sugars and wack spices. Probably won’t get again.

Meh. Kind of peppery. A bit spicy and bland at the same time. Sort of bitterish with a plastic-y odor. Taste is a bit like a red- mildly, mildly peaty and not really at all like a saison.

Transfer from BA review on 4-24-13- Poured from bottle into a pint glass Appearance – Pours a deeper amber color with a one finger white head. The head fades fast leaving only a trace level of lace on the sides of the glass. Smell – The aroma is rather light overall but has notes of a bready smell mixed with some hay like and grassy aromas as well as the more traditional Blue Moon aromas of citrus, coriander and a bit of yeast. Taste – The flavor starts out with a sweeter flavor being of orange, cherry, and apple greeting the tongue. These flavors initially present and sweet upfront, gain more sourness as the taste advances. As the beer sours more so too comes some light spice flavors as well as a bit of a grassy hop taste. In the end a higher proportion of the flavor shifts to the sour apple taste, leaving a tart fruited flavor to linger on the tongue. Mouthfeel- The body of the beer is on the average to slightly chewier side for the style with a carbonation level that is on the averages side. The average to slightly above average body is nice for accentuating the lighter sour and tart flavors of the brew, while the carbonation does nicely to keep them from becoming too overpowering on the tongue. Overall – A easy drinking farmhouse ale but a little lacking of some of the desired characteristics of funk that I am looking for in a brew such as this. It is tasty, but if looking for a big saison, then this is likely not for you.

had this exactly a year ago, but these slick fuckers are learning the game and doing the ole name change. ya got me, ya got me. and just for that. no more soup on sunday, a bit of garlic is always appreciated, pours a dark tan with subtle odd fruit, is refreshing, and if in a bind, blue moon can be given a glimmer of sunshine in a world of scoot and shoot libations. not unhappy i got a revist, ..unlike my uncle.

Bottle: Poured amber with white head. Aroma is malts and spices. Taste is a watery malt, light sourness, spice/pepper, and a dry finish.

Actually had the farmhouse red saison/flanders-style ale, but couldn’t find it in ratebeer.
