COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Farmhouse Ales were brewed for the diligent farmhands who drew the short straw and had to work the arduous harvest. Our brewmaster’s expression blends the spiciness of a Farmhouse Ale with the tartness of a Flanders Red for a remarkably refreshing finish. Malts: Caramel Malt Pale Malt, European Abbey Malt, European Acidulated Malt, Chocolate Malt, Malted White Wheat Hops: Spalt Select, Czech Saaz Our Twist: White Pepper, Coriander, Hibiscus

Formerly know as "Farmhouse Red Ale"

I’ve given up trying to find the jewel of cheap garbage that brewery’s label as "Belgian". Thinking maybe this might be a watered down saison and finding myself wrong again. Unfortunately I have 5 more of these strawberry soda colored turds to fight through before I go get a nice 750ml REAL Belgian of some sort.

Bottle from Food Pantry Waikiki 191214. Say what you like about Blue Moon but they do make some good beers. While this beer doesn’t look all that impressive it tastes good with a slight tartness to it.

Reddish gold color. Floral/fruity nose. Nice combination of malty & tart. A little spice too.

From a 12 oz bottle. Sweet, mildly spicy, notes of tart fruit. Slightly artificial, but enough beer flavor to ignore it. A bit too watery. Not bad.

Bottle, another screw-top which I pried off. Nose is sweet with lots of coriander, lemon, lighter roses and caramel, spice. A candyish, thick fruitiness floats behind. Pours clear amber with avg carb and a fizzy, soapy beige head. Taste is zippy and refreshing, faint tartness and lightly oily texture, medium body seems fuller at times with acceptable malt depth, sweet and a little phenolic with subtle warmth from uppity booze. Very minimal spice, no hops at all, light diacetyl, and that peel/oiliness is the real calling card. I need this to be drier or bitterer to balance the assertive sweetness, but the flavors that are here aren’t bad, even if they aren’t rustic, "farmhouse", or "Flanders Red." Oh, and if you insist on selling the fable of Belgian beer for the nourishment and productivity of day laborers, keep the damn abv below 5%, OK?

Pours a reddish brown color with a tiny white head. Aroma is weird. Maybe some cherry along with some bread? Possible some spices? The taste is weird too. Kind of sweet, some cough syrup taste, a little straw. It’s gross. This is not a good beer. Avoid.

I enjoy this. It was strongly carbonated, but was a little bland. Slightly higher alcohol content at 5.9% made it better. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

A very overwhelming taste of wheat. The hops get lost in translation with the wheat.

Pours a reddish copper to amber with a thin off white head. Aroma is cereal, old wet grain, a hint of vinegar, earth citrus and floral notes. Flavor is mostly dull fruit up front, then some tart floral, vegetal notes, cereal, and odd metallic and fusel notes. Medium body, slick, slightly oily feel throughout with a light, but blanketing and sharp carbonation. Not very good, lots of sloppy off notes and a mouthfeel that just doesn’t work for me. .

Bottle from Grant’s going away as Blue Moon Extra Sour Red -- best of luck in the air, we will miss you at events! Pours reddish amber with some carbonation, leaving an off-white head with slight lace. Aroma has sour cherry and light vinegar with some spices. Taste has lightly sour earthy cheery with some woodiness. Some biscuity malt, possibly. Light to medium bodied. Pleasant, somewhat sour. Decent offering from a macro.

12 oz. bottle from Cash Wise in Watford. Appearance: half finger slightly off-white to tan head, head does not last, copper color, clear, no lacing. Aroma: light fruit, caramel, light wheat notes. Palate: light body, average carbonation, dry finish, cloying texture. Taste: sweet caramel, wheat, and heavy fruity sweetness, into very very subtle tartness, ending with a cloying sweetness. Overall, interesting beer, but tastes are all off. There is nothing special about this beer.
