Transfer from BA rated on 2-26-12 - Poured from bottle into pint glass Appearance – Pours a nice clear golden color. There is a billowy just off white head which fades quite fast to leave a thin white head on the top of the beer, but very little lacing on the sides of the glass Smell – Citrus notes are most heavy up front. The larger of the citrus is orange with is mixed in with a bit of lemon. There is an ever so light bready-wheat aroma as well. Overall the aromas are quite light. Taste – Malty wheat sweetness and caramel are the first flavor to meet the tongue. It is rather surprising from the nose which is stronger in the citrus. The citrus in the taste comes more toward the middle and the end and is actually quite light. It is a very smooth and subtle taste transition, although the taste does lack much of the complexity of the other blue moon brews as well as other beers of similar style. Mouthfeel – The body is of light to medium thickness. It passes the tongue very quickly. The carbonation is a bit on the high side, but good for the style and body type. It’s feel makes it very easy to down. Overall – The beer has a nice flavor, but for the most part is rather one dimensional. It’s refreshing and one for a hot day perhaps.

Reviewed from notes. The appearance was a clear blonde colored body, three finger worth of foamy white head after thirty seconds dies to film of a head, some foamy lacing graces the sides of the glass. The smell had some wheat, lemon, light malts. The taste was sweet through previously mentioned flavor. On the palate, it sat about a medium, sessionable, some light harshness on the tongue, no aftertaste, yet a sweet finish. Overall, this is a beer that is just a tad above average to me. Maybe not something I would rush out to buy but I think I would have it again.

Bottle @ home. Schiuma bianca. abbastanza fine ed abbastanza persistente. Colore ambrato carico, opalescente.

"Light gold pour with a small head that quickly disappears. Very little in the way of aroma or flavor which is not surprising. A hint of lemon just peaks out from the grainy wheat. "

Average in taste, a bit too much lemon in the aftertaste, just stick with regular Blue Moon. -- rated via 'Find A Beer' for Blackberry 10

On tap at OKC Fox & Hound. Pours a near clear amber gold with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a light flora note with a good amount of sweet wheat and a hint of light fruits. Flavor is lighter with sweet wheat and a touch of light spice and flora.

This beer seemed to have a weird combination of flavors. I didn’t go in one direction or another. Probably would have been better if it had a distinct orange or lemon flavor rather than a mixture of both. The malts didn’t help the situation.

Appearance: Clear and light with colors of orange and gold under a thin white collar which fades into a broken film. A slow stream of bubbles breaks the silence.
Nose: Sweet rolls, honey rolls. Hint of powdered sugar and angel food cake sweetness. Cold fresh cut apricots and green grapes. Ghostly essence of lemon bread.
Palate: Sweet rolls and honey rolls front and center. Green grapes and apricots in the back of the swallow. Bright – tingles atop my tongue. Soft mouthfeel. The sweetness threatens to overwhelm – borderline cloying. Angel food cake in the middle adds to the sweetness. Fresh bananas in the breath.
Final Thoughts: An OK starter beer but with so many better intro craft beers available on the market, I’d offer the Spring Blonde Wheat Ale to a friend only if it was the only available option. Way too sweet, cloyingly sweet. Tone down the sweetness and enhance the fresh quality of apricots and green grapes would be my 2 cents worth.
