Rated 3/24/13. Portion of a 12 oz bottle into a Hunahpu’s snifter. Hey, at least it’s not as bad as putting Budweiser Black Crown in it...from notes. A: Pours an orange-amber color, with no head. I’ll chalk it up to my glass being somewhat dirty at this stage. S: There’s some orange and sweet caramel. Pretty blah, which isn’t too surprising. T: An orange-y start fades into a finish of really bland wheat. If the nose was pretty blah, the flavor is really blah. M: Relatively light and crisp. Still, the sweetness detracts from the drinkability too much. O: Eh, not great. Still, I’ve had far worse.

Copper pour with bubbly white head. Aroma of orange zest and a flat maltiness. Light malt with a floral bitter. Medium bodied and fizzy. Not much to it but ok.

Pour from a 12 oz bottle. Clear orange / amber brew with small pale head. Aroma of light malt and metal. Taste is sweet malt with a modestly dry finish. Wheat? Orange peel? I’m not connecting to them... But it is relatively full bodied and pleasant.

12 ounce bottle - $1.49 at Total Wine & More in Kennesaw, Georgia.

Date code: JUL1513.

Appearance: Pours out an amber-hued body, great clarity, with a not-so-great, very thin, white head.

Smell: Sweetish scent of toffee atop bready, scantly grainy malts with just a tickling of wheat and a juicy orange topnote.

Taste: Toffee-laced, bready grains, moderately sweet adjoined to a sip of everyday OJ. Minimal hop character, bitterness. Slight wheaty accent here and there. Orange peel taste on the back-half and into the drying, zippy finish.

Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium-plus carbonation.

Overall: While the VAA is not exactly bad, I just wasn’t exactly keen on the flavors presented here.

Bottle at relatives house poured into lager glass. Coppery-orange color with white head. Aroma of light caramel malt and some orange peel. Taste brought out the wheat flavor, malt sweetness with some orange-citrus notes. Light body, high carbonation, smooth, quick finish. Not going to be really memorable, overall just alright.

Bottle at home. Aroma is of malt with very distant orange. The flavor is pretty standard, toasty, some sweetness, with a crisp and citrusy finish. Not much orange at all. Refreshing, light, and drinkable. Great for spring, but overall its very boring.

Pours a copper color with a citrus aroma. Taste is crisp with no complexity. Very little aftertaste, a good beer to have on a hot day but not very flavorful.
