Blue Moon kind of reminds me of this horrible Betty White prank show my Dad is watching... The first 3 pranks have been based around farts, porn, and porn. Pretty lowest common denominator and aiming for mass appeal. But unlike the prank show, there is some good here. Nothing jumps out, but it’s tasty. Unlike Coors itself or Bud, Blue Moon is trying. Just like an octogenarian aping Punk’d (which already kind of sucked). And damn it, that earns you some points in my book.

This isn’t too bad actually....Bottle at the condo. nice dark mahogany in color, aroma is some light spice and sweet malt. Taste is more spice and some additional malt sweetness. Body is a bit thin. More richer flavor would have given this a higher rating. Nothing too fancy here but overall very passable.

12 oz bottle courtesy of my in-laws. The pour is clear brown ruby with a minimal light tan head. The aroma is raisin sweet malt, along with a dusty dry note - not really earthy, not really cardboard, sort of a synthetic dusty dry. The taste is somewhat mild raisin fruit sweet malt, along with vanilla and caramel notes, and a lightly bitter finish. More sweet arrives in the aftertaste, along with the synthetic dryness of the nose. The palate is medium bodied, higher level of carbonation and the sweet dry finish.

12oz bottle, thanks to Greg. Best by 5/27/13. Clear brown / red color. Bit of bubbly off-white head, fades to nearly nothing. Lighter carbonation, light body. Kind of watery, not really a fan of the texture. Sweet taste, kind of a sweet nutty flavor. Some caramel, macro feel to the texture, light spice, maybe some honey. Doesn’t really taste "abbey" at all. Artificial flavors added to attempt a "Belgian" profile just taste artificial. I managed to finish the whole bottle, but I didn’t really enjoy it.

No aroma. Thin, whispy head, little to no flavor. Another. Overrated beer. The color may be the saving grace.

12 oz bottle pours deep amber with a white head. Aroma of wheat and caramel. Taste is toasted caramel, a hint of spice and vanilla. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

A decent heavier winter ale, strong flavor that isn’t the greatest...little too much spice IMO

Medium spice. Low hop flavor. Medium body. Low carbonation. Pretty standard belgian wit
