2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Actually a beautiful beer...pours reddish copper - nice fluffy tan head. First taste was very roasted-like...but the roastiness faded into more of a blackberry taste finishing with red wine vinegar. Not a lot of body...but still mildly satisfying.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
This beer pours a dark amber liquid with a small head. the smell is dried fruits and brown sugar. The tast is malty, with some carmel and fruit in a medium-light body. The finish is a bit of sweetness swirled into toasty coffee and malt. Not long in the aftertaste but a very pleasant beer.

1.9 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 4/20
Hazy deep copper color with a thin tan head. Almost untraceable grain aroma. Roasty and toasty grains with a sugary taste and a metalic hop finish. Sweet sticky, medium bodied mouthfeel. Overall, cloyingly sweet. Some sort of spice that stings the toungue. The fact that they added sugar and say so in the label is a bad sign to me. They’re not lying, you can taste the sugar... OR you could just make a better beer.

2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
spicy hoppy smell. Nice head that dissipates fairly quickly. dark brown appearance with hardly any carbonation. light body, much lighter than you’d expect for a beer this dark and a bit of a sticky stale aftertaste. Pretty boring overall, I’d choose it on $0.50-bottle night.

No aroma. Thin, whispy head, little to no flavor. Another. Overrated beer. The color may be the saving grace.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
This beer fills me up. I find the sugar note pleasant. It is easy-drinking if not very remarkable. I don’t ever pair this with food. I buy a case when it comes out yearly.

2.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Has a reddish amber colour. The aroma is mostly sweet and caramel malty. It’s pretty disappointing, even though I only bought a single bottle.

This tastes kind of like saltine crackers. It’s fine, but I’m not buyin’ the winter or the abbey.

2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Nice color, malty and sweet. Aftertaste lingers unwelcomely. Sort of disappointed that there are two more in the pack.

12 pack from bro earlier this year; finally down to my last one which to rate. Pours a dark bronze with a tan head. Decent aroma and taste; not a bad winter ale but there are better ones.
