I thought this was fairly decent. Has a slight stickiness to it and sweetness as well, but pretty drinkable, about two at a time. Surprised.

This beer fills me up. I find the sugar note pleasant. It is easy-drinking if not very remarkable. I don’t ever pair this with food. I buy a case when it comes out yearly.

Poured a reddish-amber hue with an off-white head. Head had good retention and some lace. Aroma had a mix of spices, mainly nutmeg and sugar. It almost had a Dr. pepper quality to it. Flavor was a little on the sweet side, some yeast notes but no bread notes to it, the spices were a subtle, and maybe too subtle. Finish was smooth.

A smooth, sweet and easy drinking dark amber brew. Heavy body. Nice balance. Well made stuff. Good winter brew, especially when you don’t want to hit the hill with high ABV.

Candied Belgian ale aroma with some vanilla and dust. Good embossed bottle, decent label, clear medium walnut brown with a ringing white head. Appearance knock for the twistoff. Toasted, slightly sweet, nice malting, a good ale twang. Medium body, sort of a brown ale finish. Pretty drinkable. Publix.

Bottled. Added a little bit of it to my potato leek soup and it was delicious, so obviously this beer is awesome.

Pours rather flat, no head. Deep umber brown pour. Mildly spicy but kind of clumsy yeast aroma. Moderate herbal (thyme, rosemary) notes. Good body, smooth, easy drinking. A good amount of personality, very wintery. Certainly one of the better macro products out there. The low carbonation feels quite appropriate when drinking it.

A very good ale! I wish this was available year around! I know they sold out to the Big Brewer..butthey nailed this one. Great color but the taste is what makes it.

Great Beer. Sight: dark in color, kinda hazy. with an off white head. Smell: caramel, fruity yeast, nutty. Taste: fruity notes, caramel, nutty, full bodied, heavy. Aftertaste: Short, still nutty with some bitter notes. I really like this beer. Full of Flavor.

Transfer from BA review on 10-29-13- Poured from bottle into a pint glass Appearance – The beer pours a deeper amber color bordering on mahogany with a big fizzy white head. The head of the brew fades fast at first, but then greatly slows in recession as time moves on. Once the head has eventually faded away a light film is left on top the brew with almost no lace on the sides of the glass. Smell – The aroma is sweet with tons of caramel and molasses with some bready aromas mixed within. A little bit of spice smells are there as well producing a malty very lightly roasted and sweet smell overall. Taste – The taste is very much as the nose would have suggested. It begins with a lightly toasted and bready flavor mixed with lots of caramel and some molasses. As the flavor advances spices of cinnamon and some allspice come to the tongue with some lighter fruit flavors. In the end, the mix of flavors, leaves a sweet and malty and lightly spiced flavor to linger on the tongue. Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is average in its thickness and creaminess with a carbonation level that is on the average side. Both are rather nice for the sweet flavors of the brew and make for a very easy drinker. Overall –An easy drinking sweeter darker Belgian. Nothing exceptional, but for the price it was a good go to.
