Served on nitro at the brewpub. Pours nearly pitch black in color with a medium tight creamy tan nitro head. Aroma is chocolate and cocoa with a tart citrus note and leafy hops. Taste is chocolate, cocoa, caramel, roasted malts, bitter hops, faint notes of candied citrus and wine. The wine and citrus are subtle, but definitely present and the whole thing blends together very well. Smooth, medium bodied. Overall very close to chocolate milk. The brewer promises to be more assertive with the citrus and wine next year, which will be welcome, but still this is a damn tasty beer.

On nitro tap at the brewpub on 02/14/2010. Dark black body with a medium creamy tan head. Sweet chocolate and light orange aroma with a roasty background. Sweet chocolate milk flavor with light orange and roasty notes. Medium body with moderate carbonation.
