Keg @ WF, C’ville. Light Amber pour with a small head. Nose of tree sap, pine. Sweet grain crisp and some apples. Nicely balanced flavors. Slight boozy heat. Chewy malt, caramel bread. Clean woody citrus zing on the bitter, dry finish. Big-boned. Decent.

On tap sampler at Whole Foods in Market Square in Fairfax, VA. Clear (or very nearly so), golden yellow with an off-white head and excellent lacing. Aroma of bright citrus, biscuit and mild tropical fruit. Taste of tangerine and other citrus, biscuit and mild tropical fruit. The alcohol is extremely well hidden. Medium/light body and medium/high carbonation. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a clear gold with a thick pale buff head that leaves generous lacing. Aroma is invitingly hoppy, if not strong. Flavor is bolder than the milquetoast of an aroma, hoppy and citrusy, just a tad bitter. Smooth texture is somewhat firm but very lively.

Draft at their brewpub in Afton, VA. Served in a snifter glass, clear orangy-amber color with off-white head. Aroma of very fruity tropical hops, some pine and citrus balanced nicely with caramel malt sweetness. Taste adds some notes of funky/grassy hops, bready malt and some herbal notes. Heavy-medium body, low carbonation, complex, sweet with lingering fruity/pine finish. Very good warming DIPA, drinks very easy to explore the hop complexities happening.

Growler from the brewery The D/IPA poured a clear golden color with a frothy white head and some lacing. The nose detects citrus, orange peel, and spruce. A complex blend of hops, with the taste of various fruits. The ale had medium body with average carbonation. This is excellent D/IPA. There is a complex mixture of hops with a nice warm felling from the higher ABV. The finish left a dry bitterness in the upper mouth.
