22 Fl. Oz. Bottle. Poured reddish amber with a nice tan head; that left decent lacing on the glass. Aroma of raisins, plums and other fruits, some spices and malts in there too. Taste is complex but very nice, well executed; again very consistent, Fruit, spices and malts. Very enjoyable.

Growler from Canal’s in Lawrenceville, New Jersey. Hazy dark amber color topped by a small creamy beige head. Sweet fruity, yeasty malt aroma has notes of apricots and cinnamon bread. Mildly sweet, yeasty malt flavor upfront. Silky dried fruit flavor in mid taste with more apricot and mild citrus. Finish is more yeasty fruit and light citrus hops.

750 ml bottle into tulip glass, best before July 2014. Pours nearly crystal clear ruby red color with a 2 finger dense light khaki head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Spotty foamy lacing clings around the glass, with some moderate streaming carbonation. Aromas of big cherry, plum, raisin, pear, apple, caramel, molasses, candi sugar, toast, brown bread, clove, pepper, floral, herbal, and yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with good balance and complexity of malt and fruity/spicy yeast notes; with good strength. Taste of cherry, plum, raisin, pear, apple, caramel, molasses, candi sugar, toast, brown bread, clove, pepper, floral, herbal, and yeast earthiness. Lingering notes of cherry, raisin, plum, pear, apple, caramel, molasses, candi sugar, toast, brown bread, clove, herbal, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice balance and complexity of malt and fruity/spicy yeast ester flavors; with a great malt/yeast flavor balance and zero cloying sweetness after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a moderately slick and slightly syrupy mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a small warming present after the finish. Overall this is an excellent Belgian Dark ale! All around great balance and complexity of malt and fruity/spicy yeast flavors; and very smooth to sip on for the ABV. A very enjoyable offering.
