4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Huge thanks to Retorp for finally getting off his ass and cracking this beautiful Batch 1 bottle.
Pours deep dark abyssness with thin mocha head. The mild aroma brings notes of dark roasted malts, chocolate, crystal malts, molasses, prunes, raisins and dates. The taste begins with dark grapes, raisins, prunes and a hint of ripe cherries. Those notes are quickly followed by wood, mild bourbon sweetness, dark roasted malts, chocolate and molasses. Very nice. I get smooth goodness with a hint of alcohol showing up into the finish.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
2/25/12. Bottle shared by DecaturStevo after RBWG 2012. Almost black pour with a huge brown head that sticks and laces a ton. Sweet marshmallow aroma with plenty of alcohol burn on the aroma. Sweet chocolate and sugary flavor with fudeg and marshmallow. Not too bad, but a bit sweet.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle: † Black, thin to moderate sudsy dark beige head, spotty lacing. † Roasty nose, dark chocolate, not getting much bourbon. † A bit more noticeable on the tongue. † A little bit of charred wood, campfire, and ash. † Not on the heavy malt side, not overly bitter, but very smooth. † Really ashy I would say, with a soft bourbon/oak aspect. † Body and mouthfeel are moderate. † Finishes like new oak, soft bourbon, ashy, and charred wood. † Respectable Imperial Stout, but it doesnít wow me like I hoped. † Thanks Kevin!

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
Big bourbony nose, heat scorches nostrils. Brown sugar is there, somewhat dusty, dark sweeter malts but lots of barrel. Black pour, initially huge beige head settles to a frothy layer. Lots of bourbon, some dust, dry cocoa powder and bourbon. Super light darker fruit flavors, and more bourbon. Very carbonated, over carbonated for style. Airy big bubbled. Lingering bourbon and some wood flavors.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle thanks to Andy! Pours black with a grayish brown head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a strong roasted malt note with some bitter chocolate a hint of coffee and a bourbon backing. Flavor starts with dark grains that grow in roasted malts and has a boozy bourbon finish.
