Crisp copper coloured body with a nice amber glow and a one centimetre tall tan head - nice. Aroma of caramel malt, nuts, earth, grass and a bit of raisins. Medium-bodied; Assertive grassy and malty notes up front with a bit of an english hop flavour of caramel and earth and the fleeting taste of apples and pears on the finish. Aftertaste shows some nuts, earth, grass and a bit of european hoppiness. Overall, a nice beer - definitely showing more english roots (hence an EPA) than american - but a solid beer that isnít phenomenal, but good. I sampled this twelve ounce can purchased from Whole Foods in Falls Church (Tysonís Corner), Virginia on 31-October-2012 for US$1.99 sampled at home in Washington on 12-November-2012.

12 oz can courtesy of RABinVA. Pours copper/amber with a 1 finger off white head. Some lazy rings of lace. Sweet biscuit aroma undercut by some herbal hops scent. Taste is caramel/toffee sweetness, balanced well by some hop bitterness. Moderate bodied with a nice smooth feel. Nice.

A copper amber ale with a thin off white head. In aroma, sweet caramel with light veggie notes, light cinnamon, faint hops. In mouth, a sweet caramel malt with woody notes, burned character, herbal hops, OK. On tap at Ginger Man NYC, Sept 21, 2012.

From a can: Copper color with average hop aroma - slight citrus. Good example of a APA. Balanced malt and hops taste with little bittering.

nice, white, large head with fair retention and lace. Bright amber copper colored brew. Soft nose of pine and citrus, lil leafy and a hint yeasty. Body is medium, good carbonation a bit spritely with light resinous notes as well. Dry malt flavors are a little biscuity and bready with a soft hop backing of citrus, pine and a hint of tropical fruit. Dry finish with a solid bite, lil fruity. A well balanced and easy quaffer! 12oz. can from statelineliquors.

Can, thanks to Drsilverworm -- many of your sessions await me! Pours an orangey copper with a big-assed head--three-to-four fingers. Smells of hop pellets, citrus extract and some yeast. Thatís about it. Tastes malty with some hop pellets, orange peels and yeast. Kind of one dimensional but stil very much alive and drinkable.

6-pack of cans from Whole Foods Foggy Bottom, DC. Best buy 1/13 sticker on the bottom of the can. Whenever I drink from cans, I cannot help but compare it to other micro offerings in cans, as well as the major offerings in cans. This beer compares very favorably to the competition. I would go so far as to say this is the bast pale ale I have had in a can. Very full-bodied with a decent hop presence and a balanced malt. Aroma was nothing much, and would I prefer a bit more hoppiness, yes. But the flavor was superior to Dales Pale, and it was just a bit lighter. I could list all of the pales I have had in cans, but the bottom line is that this is a very flavorful and drinkable pale ale. And for goodness sake people, buy this instead of the shitty Buds and Coors you see advertised ad naseum during the football season.

Lost Dog Cafe, Dunn-Loring tap ($7): Pours a copper color with a whitish head. Aroma is fruity and piny hops. Nice hop bitterness throughout in this one. Nice body. This is a relatively standard, but well pulled off APA. Unlike most reviewers, I thought this was more on the leafy, piny side than the fruity side.
