3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
12 oz can poured into a pint glass.
A: Pours a reddish copper color with top notch clarity for the style. This features one of the best heads I’ve ever seen on a pale ale - three fingers high, with an offwhite shade. The retention level and fluffy texture is quite excellent, and so is the lacing left behind on the glass.
S: Tons of bready, caramel malts, grapefruit, and floral notes on the aroma. This one really reeks of Centennial hops, even though this seems to be primarily a Cascade-hopped ale.
T: It’s a rather typical pale ale, with citrusy, lemongrass hop flavors backing up a clean malt undercurrent. The malts also seem to develop a nutty, earthy tone after a while, balanced by the hops. No extreme flavors here, just a simple, easy to drink pale ale.
M: Very clean and dry on the finish and aftertaste. Has that crisp, refreshing texture that would make it great on a hot day, only with a body that could stand to be less flabby.
O: It is what it is - a well crafted, basic pale ale in a can. Really, it’s just another SNPA clone, but that just means SNPA is such a great beer to ape. Damnit, I need to buy more canned craft beers ASAP!

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
On tap @ Blue Mountain / Afton VA --- Clear light mahogany amber, ivory head, sheets of lace. Taste is a bit of malt that is quickly passed by medium hops. The hops maintain control through the finish. A decent light entry APA, especially for hopheads.

Serves in a can. Nice taste. Great with a burger. Smooth taste with a pleasant aftertaste. Subtle and does not affect the taste of the fruit. Safe social beer for mixed company.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Can. A hazy, dark golden beer with a small, dense, off-white head leaving some curtains. The aroma is rather piney and grapefruity, with some malty notes in the back. Bread hints. It’s full-bodied, smooth and pleasantly carbonated, semi-dry. Nice bitterness in the flavor, some lightly bready malts in the back, and pine cones and grapefruit up front. Lasting finish with some orange zest, grapefruit and bitterness. A bit sweeter than I prefer, but sure a nice one. 150618

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
BBD 5/15. Pours a hazy medium amber (copper). Outstanding head volume, world class lacing and retention.
Quite nice nose of citrus hops with a subtle pine hop background over a subtle caramel.
Almost light medium body with a texture that is somewhat smooth. Superbly carbonated with a nice effervescence from the middle on.
The outstanding flavor profile is intense, a bit complex and very well balanced. It begins with cascade hops (a blended citrus and pine flavor with a hint of spice). In the middle a balancing sweetness emerges against a mild bitterness with a slant towards grapefruit. The finish is a lingering rind like mild bitterness.
