3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 12/20
Charleston bottle. Nice and easy drinking hoppy brew. Big caramel malt backbone that matches the citrus bitterness very well. Tasty.

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Draft. Pours a clear dark gold color with a thick white head that unfortunately dampens any aroma. Balanced taste of malt and hops, pretty average for an APA. Very slight dry finish. Not bad but nothing special.

Decent tropical nose, but way too much malt for a pale ale, especially an american pale. On tap at Buckeye 18 Jan 14

Green can into pint glass, clear amber-golden color with off-white head. Aroma of caramel malt and floral/fruity hops. Taste adds notes of graininess, somewhat herbal and piney hop bitterness. Medium body, moderate carbonation, dry, creamy with citrus bitter finish. Pretty tasty APA.

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Can. clear light copper pour with a big off white head that seem to last a long time. Caramel, soda, hey, floral, pine. Light to medium body with relatively strong carbonation and bitter but smooth finish. A bit too bitter considering the body and aroma.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
A decent pale ale from Virginia (probably a small town) that has a good backbone and represents a decent pale ale without any kicker or defining hops.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Biscuty aroma, with some hop notes. Pours a clear amber with a moderate white head. Caramel notes, with hop bitterness running past them. The bitterness lingers for a while, with some pine notes. Just a touch too hoppy to be balanced, but just barely out of balance. Very drinkable, and a decent APA.

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Can, courtesy of nimbleprop. Golden pour with two fingers of creamy off-white head. Really nice aroma, albeit a bit mild. Fresh citrus, light herbals, floral, and caramel. Sort a soft and wet mouthfeel, flavors of light florals and herbal hops. Citrus seems to have fallen off. Bready malt base and a mild spicy hop finish. I feel like there is a bit more going on here than I’m really picking up… maybe I’m reading more into this than I should. Enjoyable. I could see this being a local staple.

Love this beer. Tons of hop flavor without being overwhelming. This is the quintessential Virginia Pale Ale.
