Served on nitro at the brewery on 3/18/11. Pours a dark brown color with a medium sized creamy tan head. Aroma of roasted malts with a sweet finish. The taste is roasted malts, dulce de leche, nutty notes, molasses and a bitter hop finish. Medium-full bodied. Creamy body. Well balanced and quite flavorful. Nice beer.

Cask at Park Lane Tavern. Black, of course. Thin head. Served fairly warm, this drinks relatively smoothly albeit with a bit of a chalky finish. Roasty, mildly chocolatey. Decent.

Tap. Pours clear brown with an average, fizzy beige head, medium retention with good lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (bread, chocolate, roasted), light hops (earthy), and average esters (fruity) with notes of prune and leather. Flavor is heavy malt (bread, chocolate, roasted), light hops (earthy), and average esters (fruity) with notes of prune and leather. Light body, low warmth and creaminess, medium carbonation with a dry finish.

On nitro at the brewpub. Dark brown body with ruby highlights and a large creamy light brown head. Sweet roast and chocolate aroma. Roasty flavor with some creamy chocolate. Medium light body with low carbonation and a very smooth finish.
