COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A hybrid beer unlike any other. Belgian fermentation, American hops, Virginia foothills deep-well water and Kentucky bourbon barrels. Bizarrely delicious.

Bottle. Pours hazy, tawny brown with thick, frothy off-white head; good retention and lacing. Aroma is toast and cereal malt, figs, floral hops, woody notes, earthy hops, and caramel. Flavor is sweet malts, earthy hops, dark fruit esters, oak, and and leather. Medium body and carbonation.

Growler from ABC Beer Co. Nice, dark amber pour with rocky/choppy white head that leaves a messy lacing. Aroma is fresh floral hops. Flavors of floral hops, fresh pine. Medium body. Tastes more like a fresh IPA than a Belgian - cool with me. I fucking hate the CFA.

750 ml bottle. Pours a rusty amber hue with a small off white head. Aroma of strong clove and banana, parceled out belgian yeast. Notes of strong hops and touches of bourbon. Yeah, this is weird. The flavor, though, is smooth and impressively balanced. Nice bitterness from the hops and barrels, some sweetness from the belgian yeast. This is interesting. I’m certainly into this.

Bottle. My friend shared this with me noting that this is a major up-and-coming brewery, and my interest will stay high if they keep putting out strange brews like this. May not be a favorite, but definitely a fairly pleasant, unfamiliar blend.

Purchased at Corks & Kegs in Richmond, VA; enjoyed at a friends house during a warm spring evening. I didn't take notes on this one, but I remember the sweetness of the bourbon really coming through in this one with light clove notes. Good stuff.

Bottle. Pours ruby with a fluffy white head. Nose is mostly yeasty with some fruity notes. Taste takes some time to open up. Develops into lots of bright citrus notes and some earthy yeast, almost like very well behaved Brett. Not much of an appearance from the bourbon barrel outside of a very minor woody note. Palate is medium mouthfeel and not much carb. I'd be interested in seeing a slightly dryer version of this. All in all they're not lying that it's bizarre, but it's certainly unique, complex and enjoyable. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Light brown pour, light tan head. Lots of begian yeast and booze in this one. They do not work well together. Tastes of an odd scotch ale with some harsh alcohol.

Bizarre is a good way to describe it, the belgian yeast is swamped all over this beer.

Poured a brown color with white head. Aroma of spicy yeast, roasted malts and hops with the same taste. I didn’t feel that it blended as well as it should, which would make sense considering it states on the bottle that it is an "experimental sort of ale". Over all it was still a decent beer.

From a 75 cl bottle shared in Avon NC. Pours a cloudy cider color with a quickly dissipating white head. Melon and citrus aroma. Flavor of melon, hints of oak, and Belgian yeast. Crisp finish.

Bottle. Pours a dark brown with white head. Aroma is weak belgian yeasts with flavor that is a little oaky. Nice beer, random as hell but I like it.
