Draft. Poured and amber color with a small white head. Aroma and taste were very similar to me. I got a bit of sweetness like honey with faint hop and notes of the barrel. Not my thing.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle shared at Small Batch. Hard to decipher much beyond the bourbon barrel here. Some caramel malts and slight peppery spice, but itís 90% bourbon and wood flavor. Moderate to moderate-weak flavor profile overall.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
I held off buying a bottle of this for a damn long time. Wished I hadnít cause this is damn good stuff. Near clear copper pour with ring of white head. Smells of sweet floral lilac and honeysuckle which transitions into the flavor quite nicely and is joined by oak and vanilla and very distinct white vinous notes. Slightly drying woodiness on the finish. Wouldnít have thought that a belgian single could turn out so well aged in whiskey!

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Pours hazy rich amber with a small creamy beige head that lasts forever and laces well. Aroma is light with notes of caramel, bourbon, yeast, pepper. grass. Flavor is light sweet, yeast, pepper, grass, bourbon, light bitterness coming through, lingering and strengthening on the finish. Medium body, prickly carbonation, a bit hot feeling, strangely. Pretty drinkable and definitely a bit out of the mainstream.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
FROM NOTES: August 2, í12
Poured from a 750 mL corked brown bottle into a shaker glass.
A: Strong, sweet fruit aromas up front with candy sugar, cinnamon and other spices. Notes of vanilla and oak, from the bourbon barrel aging, also come through.
A: Pours a lightly hazy orange-amber with solid one-finger off-white with good retention and copious lacing.
T: Belgian yeast gives fruity, sweet flavors and the hop profile gives it a unique, American twist. The bourbon barrel aging is more apparent in the aroma than in the flavor profile, but the faintest hints of vanilla and smoke add character to the finish of this beer.
P: Medium body, moderately high carbonation, and a slightly sweet finish
O: A unique, well-balanced and complete beer. The aroma differs from the taste but it adds overall complexity to the beer.

Best by June, 2014
Itís a toasted golden with a solid sheet of yellowed cream. Smells of light belgian yeast, apple meat, some bretty character, caramel malts and some dried cut grass. Flavor is malty, biscuits, some oak, smoke, golden raisin, seltzer, a little bitterness and some metal on the finish. Body is medium with a fine, silky carb and a near bone dry finish. I was skeptical of this beer, but was surprised to find the belgian yeast wasnít too overpowering, while the oak was a nice second fiddle with this beer. Well done.

Bottle split with some friends at Ray Rayís. Pours a hazy amber with medium head and lace. Nose of spice, banana, faint oak. Medium body, assertive carbonation, moderately bitter finish. Lots of spice flavor. Not a big fan.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
750mL bottle, pours a hazy orange amber with a small off-white head. Aroma brings out spicy Belgian notes and feint bourbon notes. Flavour brings out fairly rich bourbon barrels, soapy floral hops, and slightly spicy Belgian yeast. Weird idea to age a light Belgian ale in bourbon barrels. Bizarre flavours, but not offensive. Solid stuff for what it is.
