A hybrid beer unlike any other. Belgian fermentation, American hops, Virginia foothills deep-well water and Kentucky bourbon barrels. Bizarrely delicious.

Pour out of 750 mL bottle, thanks to James for the bottle! Dark ruby red dark pour with thin slightly off white head, aroma has notes of lemon, biscuit, hints of earth, grain touch of grass, slight bourbon, hints of oak, finishing a bit sweet, some cardboard. Taste is a mix of sweet belgian fruit, hints of earth, touch of candi sugar, dark fruit, hints of cardboard, slight caramel, very slight lemon and slightly sour, but it works, finishing sweet. Interesting for sure!

Pours clear orange with a small white head. Smells fruity, earthy, vanilla, and oak. Taste is sweet, oak, vanilla, and fruity. Medium-bodied with a smooth texture and average mouth-carbonation, Blue Mountain Local Species finishes with a pleasant sweet fruitiness.

Aroma - Belgian yeast, spices, and some alcohol Appearance - the body is a hazy amber. The white head is 2+" and settles slowly. Great lacing. Taste - barley, spices (esp. coriander), Belgian yeast, and some slightly pungent hops. Palate - medium body, average carbonation, and a mix of light bitters and some light alcohol.

Strong bourbon flavor balance by Belgian malts and American hops. The aging in barrels of this beer seem to complement it well.

Draft. Pours slightly hazy orange golden with nice lacing. The aroma has Belgian yeast, straw, oak, and bourbon. Nice flavor, quite dry with a slightly bitter finish. Very balanced. Medium bodied, a hint of booze and lively carbonation. Enjoyable.

Thanks to decaturstevo for the share. Rusty orange/brown pour with a generous white head. Fruity sweet aroma of malts and Belgian yeast. The flavor is balanced and fruity. Not too sweet or bitter. Some light spice. I never picked upon any barrel thing here. The flavor is not as complex as the aroma hints at,but not a bad beer.

Slightly hazed gold/amber pour with white head and lace. Aroma is bready malt and fruitiness. Flavor is bready maltiness, oakiness, and a slight sour. Medium body with good carbonation. Maybe a touch of earthy hop flavor but no aroma. A touch of hop bitter. Ok by me

A one fingered, slightly reddish-brown pour. Points for complexity here. Notes of wheat, vanilla, hop and bourbon. The flavor has some spice and booze components. It tastes of a wheat ale with bourbon. Quite intriguing.
