COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The biggest beer we’ve ever brewed at Blue Mountain, coming in at almost 12 percent alcohol by volume. But it’s also one of the lightest-colored brews we’ve ever created! Brewed solely with Pilsner and Vienna malts, and we used the same amount of barley it would take to make 1000 gallons and packed into just 500 gallons worth of the smoothest, fullest-bodied, strongest winter brew you’ve ever had. This lager defies most standard beer categorization (Germans would put it in the Doppelbock category), but we’re calling it a blonde Triplebock. The name says it all... It won’t take many of these and a long winter’s nap will be all you’re capable of doing.

sonnycheeba (3303) - Federal Hill, Baltimore, Maryland, USA - JUN 25, 2013
Bottle. Pours lightly hazy amber with creamy beige head. Aroma is caramel and cookie malts, dates, plums, floral hops, light vanilla, and faint booze. Flavor is sweet malts forward with supporting dark fruit esters, toffee, and faint hop bitterness; with some booze sweetness at the finish. Medium body and carbonation.

MadRobin (1834) - Silver Spring, USA - MAY 28, 2013
Poured from 750 ml bottle after cellaring for 6 months, which is right at the end of the "drink by" date on the cork. Clear, bright orange copper with 2-finger cream-khaki head and good lacing. Aroma of caramel, toast, brown bread, apple, plums, peaches, brown sugar and mild herbal hops. Taste of sweet caramel, toffee, peaches, herbal hops, brown sugar, dark bread and toast and dark fruit. Full/medium body and medium/low carbonization and a pleasant mouthfeel that is both silky and bubbly. The cellaring seems to have improved this beer a bit. It's a bit sweeter and less hoppy, but more fruity and complex. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

BeerandBlues2 (9400) - Hanover, Maryland, USA - APR 3, 2013
Bottle @ home. Pours clear dark amber with a small, frothy off-white head, short retention with spare lacing. Aroma is perfume alcohol with toast and cookie malt, spicy hops and light caramel notes. Flavor is sweet malt dominant with spicy hops and light bitterness, some melanoidin dark fruits with a sweet finish. Full body, medium-light carbonation, medium alcohol warmth with no astringency or creaminess.

FalconsFever (40) - Smyrna, Georgia, USA - MAR 13, 2013
My parents got this bomber for me directly from the brewery. Caramel color, sweet smell, and tastes exactly like that. A little too sweet for me and a touch flat. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

emacgee (3958) - Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA - MAR 3, 2013
Pours a very viscous soft copper amber with two fingers of sticky khaki tan head. Nose is extremely rich and dextrinous with some spicy alcohol and hops. Super dense and bready malt profile in the flavor. Extremely rich and full bodied with an intense biscuity/bready malt character and spicy hops. Very intense palate. Tough to drink.

Aromas of butterscotch, peanut brittle, and subtle notes of cotton candy. Clear copper with a sticky, mostly lasting, off-white head. Sweet, with notes of caramel and butterscotch, along with perceptible strength. Medium bodied with lively carbonation, and a short, strong, malty finish.

Light brownish pour. Aroma is malty, bready, cookies, spice, yeast. Flavor is a bit sweet, caramel, some apple notes. Nothing spectacular here.

Thin pour, very little carbonation, light in color. Aromas are caramel and toffee, honey and a bit of vanilla. Palate is fleeting and slick. I want more richness and depth from a doppel. Lots of caramel, hay and vanilla cake on the finish. Lightly hopped.

Bottle - 750mL corked and caged. Copper with a short tan head. Aroma is caramel, sweet malt, bready notes and soft toffee. Taste is chewy malt, bready notes, caramel, toffee notes, soft fruit notes and soft booze. Body is medium-full and chewy with a moderate, bubbly carbonation. Ends with more bready notes, chewy caramel, sweet malt, candyish notes, light fruit and booze.

Braudog (5578) - Hampton, Virginia, USA - JAN 5, 2013
Bottle, caged and corked. Crystal-clear amber pour, just a fizzle of a head. There’s little to no aroma here. But the beer drinks with a nice viscous character, and a smooth high gravity burn, like warmed honey. Malty and almost lagery on the surface, this carries a bock-like kick in the middle. Sip it.
