A medium intensity aroma of sugary malt, pours a reddish brown with a short lasting off-white head. Taste of malt, scotch and sugars. Creamy feel with a sugary malt finish.

Pours a clear red color with a decent off white head. The nose is full of malty goodness. Notes of caramel, slight earth, and bread. Flavor follows suite with the caramel and earthy notes blending together well. Finishes fairly clean. A solid brew for malt lovers.

12 oz. bb August 2014. Clear mahogany with a small spit of cream. Nose is cherry, raisin, toffee and just a touch of citrus zest. Taste is dark toffee, raisin, black cherry, and just a touch of roast. Near-medium body has medium carbonation and is of course to the malty sweet side but has a decent balancing of light char and roast.

Draft. Gentle aromas of soap, peaty malts, a little sharp on the palate but descending to malty sweetness.

12 ounce bottle thanks to ygtbsm94. Brown color. Caramel upfront. Malty with that toffee/vanilla thing going on.

Draft. Clear, rusty copper color, no head. Rich malty taste, not overly heavy for the style, medium body. Good overall.

Has a very good copper pour with a big fluffy head that slowly becomes a nice ring of lacing. The aroma is of soft caramel malt. The taste is quite similar. Iím typically a huge scotch fan but there seems to be something lacking here. There isnít much sweetness and the finish is slightly harsh. Itís ok but there are far better scotch ales out there!

Pours from the bottle with a rich, reddish-amber color that is not unlike a brown ale, and it is topped by a fizzy tan head. Light, sweat, bready malts are most pronounced in the aroma, but there is also some earthy, almost metallic character. The bread and light caramel sweetness is likewise prominent in the flavor, but the finish is loaded with the earthy/metallic/spice hop character, which isnít pleasant. The medium body and fine carbonation donít distract from the flavors, which is unfortunate in this case. Overall, the beer doesnít showcase the malts well, and the unpleasant finish makes me not want to come back for more.

Sampled on draft at the brewery. The menu claimed this as an 110/-Scotch Ale. But the name is identical. Beautiful clear amber pour with decent ring of offwhite head. Malty sweetness with just a slight twinge of alcohol heat on the nose. A slight peatyness plays very well with the biscuity maltiness. Enjoyed quite a bit.
