Leighton (11845) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - JAN 12, 2014
Bottle shared at CBC Clerkenwell in London - many thanks to Bruce for this one. Pours lightly hazy, bright gold with a creamy white head. Ripe fruits in the nose, marmalade, sticky malt sugars. Medium sweet flavor with tangy orange, liquified fruits, dry orange, tangy berries. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Oddly tangy finish, moderately dry, pretty sweet, with lightly leathery fruits, tannins, citrus. OK.

Bottle @ home. Pours lightly particulate amber with a medium-small, frothy off-white head, short retention with spare lacing. Aroma is apple, pear, and stone fruit esters, biscuit and toast malt with cellar notes and light perfume alcohol notes. Flavor is fruity esters, lightly tart and sour, cellar and earthy notes, light spicy and peppery alcohol, toast and biscuit malt with a dry finish. Medium-full body, medium carbonation, light alcohol warmth, and slight astringency.

Bottle... Hazy dirty-orange ale with a small creamy white head. Decent retention. The bouquet is super spicy - nutmeg, clove, coriander and allspice - and fruity - plum and pear. Full-bodied with a buttery mouthfeel and moderate carbonation. The flavor is spicy and minerally with an off-flavor of raw meat or broth or stock. Finishes spicy, minerally and dry. Bottle courtesy of biggsbowler!

2013-08-16. Golden amber body with a small white head. 3+ Nice bready pale malt character, lightly yeasty. Flavour is dry, bready pale malt and moderate bitterness throughout. 7+ Average plus bodied palate. Pretty nice, enjoyable. At Campground Brewdown.

750 cc from Wine Seller Willaimsburg. Pours clear deep copper with 1-finger creamy, off-white head. Nose is tart fruit, hops, malt, some diacetyls. Tastes very tart fruity, funky, with hops, and a lot of lactose and diacetyls. This one was flawed, and I will try it again and re-rate.

Bottle, shared by brew3crew, I think. Hazy darker orange color. Good thin off-white head. Couple loose mountainous ropes of lace. Orange, mandarin zest in the nose. Caramel malts. More sweet taste. Light molasses. Bigger body. Light, softer carbonation. Lightly dry in the finish. Mustiness is prominent. Not a fan of this. Just tastes like musty orange rind, really, with barely a hint of tart.
