COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
We set aside 28 cases of our 750mL Mandolin Belgian-style Tripel, added the wild yeast Brettanomyces to each bottle, and let them age for several months carrying out a 2nd bottle-refermenation and 4th total fermentation. The result? Nectar of the Gods. Enjoy this champagne-like beer with a friend in our tasting room for $16. As Mandolin has particular serving requirements (must be served ice cold and is extremely effervescent), it is available on-site only.

Rating is based on the fact that the brewery told dkachur that this was in fact the Redux and was highly concerned about the explosion possibility when he left the brewery with the bottle. Having said that - not entirely convinced this wasn’t regular old Mandolin. In any case, 5th Epic and Rare Gathering! Medium gold, good head - but not crazy by any means. Honey accented malts, slight Belgian spice. No brett. Honestly, not even a sign of it. Flavor and nose matched.

Bottle at the brewpub on 11/21/2008. Cloudy orange body wtih a huge rocky off-white head exploding out of the bottle. Sweet candi sugar, caramel, and light barnyard aroma. Sweet caramel, candi sugar and light barnyard flavor. Medium body with high carbonation. It’d be interesting to see what this does with more age if the bottles stay in tact.

This is the normal Mandolin refermented in the bottle with brett. Served ice cold at the brewery. We had a fairly calm bottle, but apparently they have had some rockets. Pours a hazy orange-peach color with a huge white head and very lively effervescence. Aroma of banana, stone fruits, caramel, bubblegum and light brett. Taste is pineapple, subtle brett, apple and bubblegum. Full bodied.
