3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
dark golden with large whtie head. nose of apricots and other fruits. low carbonation for the style. flavor is composed of a lot of the above fruity esters, really producing an impressive yeast component. the residual sweetness is moderate for the style, as is the alcohol presence. overall it tastes more of a fruity blonde than a triple, but it’s quite nice

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Draft. Pours gold with a white head. Peachy stone fruits, medium sweetness, and a hint of diacetyl. Not that good, but based on ratings it looks like this baby has been sitting in the cellar for a bit too long.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
750 ml bottle into chalice, no bottle dating. Pours lightly hazy orange amber color with a 1-2 finger dense and fluffy off white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with moderate streaming carbonation. Aromas of big peach, pear, apple, apricot, orange, floral, grass, pepper, clove, honey, candi sugar, and earthy yeast spiciness. Damn nice aromas with good balance and complexity of fruity/spicy yeast esters with a moderate malt balance; and good strength. Taste of peach, pear, apple, apricot, orange, floral, grass, pepper, clove, candi sugar, light caramel, bread, and yeast earthiness on the finish. Lingering notes of light fruits, citrus, floral, grass, pepper, clove, candi sugar, light caramel, bread, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice balance and complexity of fruity/spicy yeast esters with a moderate malt balance; with a nice sweetness/spiciness balance and no cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full bodied; with a slick and lightly syrupy mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a small warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is an excellent Tripel style. All around nice balance and complexity of fruity/spicy yeast esters with candi sugar malts; and very smooth to sip on. Really enjoyed this one.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draft at Rustico Ballston. Pours a cloudy apricot with fair sized frothy white head. Nose and flavor bring really lovely stone fruit, touches of caramel, white wine, sweet spice, and bready dough. This reminds me of Struise Tsjeeses a bit, just not quite as much going on. Still, a nice tripel.

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle, purchased at the brewery in summer 2011 and settled for several months. Very attractive pour of dark orange, piled with an inch of frothy, white foam. The initial whiff is laden with robust spiciness, laced with a bit of orange rind and airy yeast. It drinks with a certain meatiness, the whipped character leading to a fulfilling depth. The aroma rings true in the flavors, earthy and herbal, sweet and bready, and eventually a bit fruity. Wonderfully done. (#4568, 4/13/2012)

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
750 ml bottle shared by argo0 at bctc 2010. Pours a hazed light golden copper with a thinning head. Aroma is oxidation and tons of cardboard, diacetyl, sherry and stale paper with some spicy phenols and pepper. Flavor is more old ox cardboardy malts, acetaldehyde, crackers, dms, musty and phenolic with a peppery finish. Meh.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Serving: 750 ml. bottle from the brewery.
It pours a deep gold color with a merangue like white head. The nose is subtle with notes of light honey, spice, dust, and yeast. The flavor is light and slightly dry. Very little hop prescence. Slightly sweet with notes of honey, florals, spice, and yeast. Light body with medium to high, soft carbonation and a short, slightly sweet and dry finish. This bottle had about a year of age on it and I think it’s done it some good. Rather tasty overall and worth a try.
