2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Strykzone (3132) - Wood River, Illinois, USA - DEC 3, 2011
12 oz. bottle I bought in Virginia. This pours clear and has a bit of copper hue. An off white head is not big. There is some banana and soft hop notes in the aroma. The flavor brings much bigger hops than expected. They are European and provide some fruit and sulfur. Banana is tasted and some kind of fish flavor is, too. Maybe from the hops? Some malt smooths out the spicier hop strains. This cannot be mistaken for a great beer but the hops make it different enough to be interesting.

Poured from bottle. Aroma of lemon cake. Light amber thin head some lacing. Has wheat, honey, citrus flavors. Somewhat dry feel complements the sweetness. Has a better than average drinkability for a summer beer. This is good stuff.
4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 jgb9348 (3491) - Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA - MAY 5, 2011
Completely clear golden coloured body with a bit of a honey and orange glow with a large, frothy slightly off-white head and a trillion small bubbles rising from the bottom and sides which show very nicely. Aroma of wheat, yeast, coriander seed, curacao, soap and a touch of light caster sugar - very nice smells indeed. Light to Medium-bodied; Chewy wheatie flavour at first with a good citrus and curacao note, a ton of light spices and a very nice complex yeast strain picked up at the tail end. Aftertaste shows a good complex wheat with light sugars, some bananas and even a very pale and drying hop kick showing at the end. Overall, a very nice and complex kristall - great to sample as most breweries wouldn’t attempt a beer like this and even more wouldn’t get it this right. A superb beer for the summer and one that should be sampled if you are lucky enough to find it. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Opera House Gourmet in Manassas, Virginia on 12-March-2011 with a Best By Date of 11/2010, sampled at home in Washington on 05-May-2011.

Reviewed from notes.
Pours a very light straw color that would be transparent but for the bit of yeasty haze. White head and a bit of lacing. Nose brings some banana and clove alongside some soft wheat. Taste consists of very faint German yeast and a mild sweetness. Pretty light mouthfeel with a good dose of carbonation. Nothing really stands out about this beer, but it drinks pretty well overall.

I was very excited to try this one considering it won Silver in the World Beer Cup ’10 awards.
Pours golden yellow with small head
Coriander in aroma and taste, nice and light. Not as complex as I as hoping for. An ok wheat, I guess I was just expecting more.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a yellow-gold color with a huge foamy yellow-white head that lingered and produced good lacing. The aroma was sour and tangy with notes of citrus, bubblegum and must. The flavor was tar and tangy with citrus, bubblegum, faint banana, sugar, nougat, vanilla and must coming through. The finish was medium length with tangy lemon and nougat lingering. Medium body. Decent.
