COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Boo! Has there ever been a better feeling then when you were a kid spiriting around the neighborhood in a white sheet with a bucket of candy bars? No, not really. But we figured if we loaded up an Imperial pumpkin ale with natural chocolate flavor from cocoa nibs and stick it in a bourbon barrel for a few months it might come pretty close.

Bottle shared at RBWG Asheville Opening Night Dinner. Thanks to Jack for this one. Big stuff, lots of bread and sugar. Some wood. Minimal pumpkin character. Medium to full bodied with fine carbonation. Lightly warming to finish, more hefty malt character. So so.

Bottle courtesy of Dave & Michelle, thanks! Cloudy golden amber color, large fluffy white head, solid lacing. Aroma of salted pretzels, I am not kidding. Taste starts with light vanilla, spice, slight booze at the finish. Tasty.

>> Low haze golden pour with okay lacing. Nose is sweet candy, mildew, gamey honey. Taste is dry, woody, papery. Eh, medicinal finish. Weird. None of the flavors I expected.

Big thanks to my good friend Steve Klenk for this one, and what a gorgeous bottle this is, with an embossed ghost behind orange letters and pumpkin. Pours turbid pumpkin colored with off-white head. Nose is bready caramel malt, bourbon, pumpkin puree, cacao. Tastes of bourbon, pumpkin, big hops, cacao, vanilla. Rich, smooth, and complex palate, with bourbon up front, the pumpkin as a solid secondary taste, and finishing vanilla, cacao, and squash. This is as unique a pumpkin beer as I have ever quaffed, and I’m damned glad to have a friend like Steve to share it with me. Take a small bite of pumpkin pie, add a Hershey’s Kiss, then without swallowing take a big hit of Cognac, and you have this beer, and it tastes great.

Bottle - 750mL corked and caged. Murky, hazy amber pour with a tall, fluffy white head. Aroma is mostly booze with soft wood note and light pumpkin. Taste is strong boozy notes from the bourbon barrel treatment, light cocoa, soft spice, light pumpkin and soft wood. Body is medium and slightly chewy with a boozy warmth and strong, bubbly carbonation. Ends with more bourbon notes, soft wood, light vanilla, soft cocoa, pumpkin notes and light spice. Glad I got a second bottle. Needs some age despite the fact this was bottled in July.

FROTHINGSLOSH (4763) - GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 18, 2013
Sampled from a 750 ml corked brown bottle this beer poured a murky orange-brown color with a huge very creamy orange-cream head that lingered forever and left great lacing. The aroma was faint with sweet orange . The flavor was sweet and malty with moderate ripe fruits, chocolate and bourbon. Long finish of creamy chocolate and bourbon. Moderately full bodied and smooth. Alcohol well hidden. Very nice.
