COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Behold the subtle power of a beer whose simplicity of elements belies its complex spirit. Pilsener malt, noble Hallertau hops, lager yeast, and deep well water. By scaling up these simple ingredients we’ve turned the German pilsener "imperial" and made one of the world’s most refreshing styles of beer bigger, rounder and even more enjoyable.

Mild aroma, possibly corn. Crystal clear amber, headless. Honey, hay, cereal grain, good intensity and richness of flavor. Grass and husk bitterness, but certainly a malt forward German style pilsner, aside from the intensity.

Bomber into snifter glass, deep golden color with a finger of frothy white head. Aroma of pale malt sweetness, cereal and floral/citrus hops. Taste adds notes of toast and fruity bitter hop bite (pear, apple, some grass). Medium body, heavy-medium carbonation, crisp, creamy with dry finish. Nice fruity strong pils, enjoyable.

Location/Date:Bottle shared with Jay on 5/30/2014.

Appearance: Pours yellow cloud.
Aroma: Light citrus aroma.
Taste: Faint bitterness, overly sweet.
Palate:Medium body.

Summary: I generally like imperial pils, so kinda surprised how sweet leaning this one was. Maybe my friend kept it too long.

750 cc from Whole Foods. Pours heavily effervescent gold with 3-finger frothy white head. Nose is pale malt, hops, caro syrup. Tastes somewhat sweet, with honey and sugar syrup notes, pale malt, heavy hops, and a complex finish. Starts and stays somewhat hot. Not a technical masterpiece by any means, but an interesting example of this style, and a well above average beer to get you to your limit tonight.

Pale yellow pour with white head. Light floral hops and malt on the nose. Sweet start with a nice floral bitter finish. Medium bodied with good carbonation. Decent drinker

Bottle at Fastelavn Smagning 2014 @ J&C’s beer palace, Jutland Saturday Session 1 - 01/03/14. Pale golden with moderate off white spotting. Nose is pale malts, cereals, corn, pretty basic. Taste comprises caramel, pale malt, grassy pangs, lightly toasted bread, cereals. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Ok stuff, not ’hopped up’ which is what I normally find in US pils, not saying that’s a bad thing but this is truer to style.

Bottle, 75cl corked. A small, dense, white head on top of a clear, golden body. The aroma is sweetish and faintly grainy, with some alcohol and a hoppy fruityness. The flavor is on the sweet side, with fruityness and some pale malts. Hints of spent grains. Not as much bitterness as it needs in my opinion. Full to medium body, with a soft carbonation level. Lasting grassy and piney finish. Sort of interesting, but nothing wonderful going on. 140301
